The rest of Lili Kraus's early LP Mozart recordings for Vox were previously issued in set CDX2 5510. These are essentially very similar: beautiful, stylish, insightful piano playing, accompanied by a game but scrappy little orchestra. It's not the ultimate in Mozart concerto recordings, but Kraus's special insights, and the sense of grandeur she brings to these two very large-scale concertos, are worth hearing, especially at this reasonable price. The sonatas are also excellent performances, although not as excellent as the stereo remakes in Sony Classical SM4K 47222. The recording has pretty decent mono sound. --Leslie Gerber
