Some good pieces but average CD.......2006-09-20

This CD contains six of Richard Strauss's more famous works. Leading of with Also sprach Zarathustra, the CD contains Don Juan, Don Quixote and Salome. Each pieces is fairly long, allowing the listener to hear most of that work, instead of just a short clip. The overall sound quality is good, the orchestration is fine, but the music itself is okay. I am not a Richard Strauss fan as I find some of his music boring, and this CD has not changed my opinion of his music.
