The debut album is the portal to the world of Distant Sun and the beginning of a journey into the exploration of the often surreal realms of rhythm and melody. Written and self produced between late 2001 and early 2002 it is the result of an evolving and experimental process of self-discovery. The album itself is a self-contained entity completing a full circle in an everlasting and infinite loop.

    I came across the group DISTANT SUN, last year, on MP3.com: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/350/distant_sun_ii.html.
    Being a fan of groups like RAMMSTEIN, MINISTRY and Chemical Brothers, I was curious to hear if this Toronto, Canada outfit could measure up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they took all my favorite industrial, electronic and rock elements and created their own identifiable sound. Heavy pulsating beats and crunching industrial guitar rhythms laced with three dimensional guitar solos that provide melody and ambience to the well produced thunder. Distant Sun's song, "Blinding Sun" is not just an awesome aural experience but at the right volume, you can feel the bass thunder like a meteor impacting the ground nearby! The CD, "Blinding Sun" is a mix of song styles that range from aggressive, minimal vocal tracks to melodic industrial rock songs that bring to mind Joy Division and New Order in their vocal delivery. I kept coming back to listen to Distant Sun, on MP3.com, until I eventually made the CD purchase on Amazon.com. I listen to their music daily and never tire of the intense sensation I get every time I crank it on my stereo. DISTANT SUN is sure to satisfy any rock fan that is looking for that rush! The hair is still standing up on the back of my neck...
