The Sand & Sea
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
In love with the summer pop sounds of Sleater-Kinney offshoot Cadallaca's self-titled debut? Well, their own Sarah Dougher plays Farfisa organ on this CD, the Portland, Oregon, trio's fourth full-length album. In love with Beat Happening's disarming, joyful innocence and the way pop music can often reinvigorate even the weariest of souls? Look no further than "Market Size," with its minimal analog instrumentation and sweet boy voice, recalling New Zealand guitar band the Chills' classic "Pink Frost" or something all sticky and cool and adorable (like ice cream, perhaps?). In love with simple songs about sadness and trust? Good. "Bricks of Gold" is an unadorned trembling love song, with female harmonies to sigh for. Retarded, sexy, and very, very succulent: the lo-fi Northwest sound has rarely seemed so beguiling. --Everett True --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

A two time Grammy award winner, Brown was also named the "most played" artist in the 2006 year end charts for Radio and Records with his #1 track, "Winelight".
Customer Reviews:
Awesome.......2007-07-05
As a jazz enthusiast, mostly old school, I took a chance on Paul Brown. Although I'd heard him on the radio during the occassional times that I do listen to the radio, I had never purchased anything he'd ever released as a solo artist. I must say, to my surprise, I LOVE IT!!!! It is truly smooth.
outstanding mix.......2007-05-22
every cut on this C.D. is a hit!
Paul Brown has assembled a great
combination of musicians
Over Hyped CD, But Still Solid.......2007-04-11
Paul Brown is a tremendously talented artist and producer with a wonderful engineering background that allows him to set the standard in smooth jazz for clean production and versatile music. However, content on his latest project, "White Sand" isn't musically expressive as the content heard on his first two solo albums. The artist collaborations on "White Sand" make it tempting to purchase, but you quickly realize Brown's musical wittiness and versatility (Smooth, Latin or R&B) are lacking. Overall it is still a CD worth paying for.
White Sand - Get into the beach mood!.......2007-04-10
Paul Brown's release of White Sand comes just in time for those winter-weary folks who are just looking to grab a relaxing spring music collection. Contributions by Bobby Caldwell, et. al. give each track a unique sound.
Peak debut is 4 pointer.......2007-03-25
I didn't read any other reviews before I bought this. I won PB's other 2 individual CDs. First, I think it suggests fromt eh album title that this was NOT Paul Brown rather it is Paul Brown & Friends. Interesting liner notes about the fantastic cover work and art in CD package. The entire CD has slick "smooth jazz" production and further demonstrates why PB is the undisputed lead producer in this format. Featuerd guests include Al Jarreau & Boney James. Several other notable guest artists too. Make no mistake, if you like a contemporary Wes Montgomery sound, this is what it would sound like but this CD gets 4 stars since I think the other 2 CDs were better. If you are deciding on a PB CD, look to the others first but this one will complete your collection of his featured work.

Released four years after the Talking Heads called it a day with 1988's Naked, Popular Favorites provides a thorough overview of one of the most important American bands of the '80s. From tightly wound early efforts such as "Psycho Killer" and "Don't Worry About the Government" to the seriously funky likes of "I Zimbra" and "Burning Down the House," David Byrne, Jerry Harrison, Tina Weymouth, and Chris Franz grew as musicians as they stretched the original concepts of the unit to the breaking point. Over the course of two discs and 32 selections, the anthology chronicles the Heads' development from Bowery art punks (albeit of the most civil stripe) to unlikely arena stars. A smattering of unreleased tracks and notes from the original quartet nicely flesh out the retrospective. --Steven Stolder

If They're Not In The Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame, Heads Should Roll!.......2007-03-20
I found it interesting being referred to in general in one of the spotlight reviews (I'm an evangelical Christian). There are some things I don't like about Talking Heads, and that is a leaning toward Nihlism (no meaning to anything). However, I applaud a band that makes you think, especially one this creative.
I won't make a list of favorite songs like I normally do; there are many good ones. I will say, though, that the band was strongest when more of the band collaborated together on the songs than in the latter years (most of disc 2) when Byrne wrote most of the songs solo.
Another thing that I consider negative, more present in the booklets, is the unnecessary cussing from Byrne. This did give me a negative point of view towards Byrne in general.
I saw "Stop Making Sense" first, and that converted me to being a fan of the group. Actually, the first time I heard this cooled me off, but re-listening helped make me a bit more of a fan again.
Sounds great, sounds like they are right next to you........2007-01-26
This cd has so many songs that you won't believe they squeezed it on the 2 cd set.David Byrne at his finest.
Worthwhile; possibly obsolete.......2006-10-10
This 2-disc set spans, somewhat uncomfortably, the boundary between a greatest-hits collection (targeted at the casual fan) and a retrospective box set (targeted at the completist). Nearly all of the band's well-known hits are here (with the odd exception of "Uh Oh, Love Comes to Town"), padded out to double-CD length with live cuts and non-album tracks. The result is completely listenable, as the boundary between the group's quirky art-rock days and their FM-radio heyday falls nicely between discs, but new fans might consider the later, single-disc hits collection a better value while fans wanting to go deeper will seek out the recent DualDisc re-releases which feature lots of bonus tracks.
It's all great stuff, however, with the first disc showcasing the band's uncanny ability to merge art tendencies with pop instinct even as they were mastering their instruments, and the second bringing key tracks from some of the less-heard later albums to light.
Of special note is the superb re-mastering job by Bob Ludwig, which gives the early songs a punch and presence missing from the prior releases.
Strong compilation from a smart pop band.......2006-09-16
Talking Heads is one of those rare bands with the distinction of making smart pop music accesible for the masses. The double disc "Sand in the Vaseline" is a good reflection of their career. I first became familar with them in the early eighties when songs like "Burning down the House" was all over FM radio and MTV. Disc 2 represents this era thoroughly, and includes some smaller hits that I forgot about until I bought the CD.
The pleasant surprise was Disc 1. Disc 1 focuses more on their earlier music from the late 70's, like "Life During Wartime." While I was familar with these hits as well, some of the more obscure songs on Disc 1 became my favorites on either disc. "Sugar on My Tongue" and "I Wish You Wouldn't Say That" stood out immediately as I was listening to them for the first time. I also liked some of the last songs on Disc 2 that they released before finally disbanding. "Sax and Violins" and especially "Lifetime Piling Up" come to mind. But that's what a good band does. Good bands produce timeless music throughout the decades that stand the test of time. This is a thorough compilation of a good band and a starting point for those becoming familiar with Talking Heads for the first time.

Updating Buffett Collection!.......2007-01-04
I purchased this CD to update my current BUFFETT collection. I've played my ORIGINAL cassette tape so much, it was beyond use!
A Nice One.......2006-11-10
3 Years pass between studio albums which for Buffett is a long time. With "Riddles" Buffett appeared to be in search of an audience. He could still draw well on the concert trail, but his album sales had sunk to an all time low with his previous effort "Somewhere Over China". With "Riddles" he appears to be going after the country audience with its album cover of Jimmy in a cowboy hat and several country tunes being prominent on the album. Buffett was also going through some difficult personal times during this album, and it shows in songs like "When The Wild Life Betrays Me", "She's Going Out Of My Mind" (written by Mac MCanally specifically for Buffett), "Bigger Than The Both Of Us" and "Love In Decline". Several of these songs are straight ahead country, but they work well for the most part. Other highlights of the album include "Who's The Blonde Stranger" and Jimmy's personal philosophy song "La Vie Dansante". Several long time concert favorites also appear here including "Ragtop Day", and "Knees Of My Heart". Overall this is a strong, but often overlooked Buffett disc.
Great Disc!.......2006-08-15
You have to appreciate the master storyteller that Buffett has become over the years. This disc is no exception. I love "Who's the Blonde Stranger?," "Come to the Moon," "La Vie Dansante," "Ragtop Day," and "When the Wild Life Betrays Me." There are also a number of good country ballads here, and one gets the sense that this disc was marketed to a traditional country audience (fine by me!) in '84. Honestly, you have wasted your money on one-"hit" discs long enough, and that won't happen here! This is great music, and the price is right!
For the True Fan.......2006-02-07
As a long time JB fan, I have determined that there are 2 types of people who like Buffett: those who know the 20 or so songs that have become synonomous with the "Parrothead" shtick and those who are True Jimmy Buffett Fans (TJBF), who own most if not all of his albums and know his songs by heart. The TJBF folks are not the ones who dress up like sharks and clowns for the concerts, instead they are sipping a Corona in the first few rows hoping to hear an obscure gem amongst the obigatory "why don't we get drunk" song list. "Riddles" is an album for the TJBF contingent. The songs are Buffett at his best: La Vie Dansante, Ragtop Day, Knees of My Heart, Bigger than the Both of Us, Come to the Moon. All gems that can be listened to over and over again.
Hard to describe except GREAT.......2005-05-06
I'd say this is Jimmy's most contemplative album. Songs like "When the wild life betrays me", "She's going out of my mind" and "Bigger than the both of us" seem to reflect a time when maybe life wasn't the beach party we assume always surrounds him. On the other hand, "Knees of my heart" is a bubbly, light-hearted and fun song; one of my favorites. I love this album. It's one of my favorites. Aren't they all though. WORTH THE BUY!!!

They say this CD was recorded between 2001 and 2004 "at home and on tour, in bedrooms, hotels, moving vehicles, parking garages...." But despite its name, this isn't an album of sketches, lost tracks, and other detritus. Instead, Artifact is a haunting document of ambient designs, trippy lounge, and cinematic atmospheres that occupy STS9's first new CD in five years. The "home" recordings are actually verité vignettes providing connecting tissue for songs like "Better Day," a haunting lament with breathy guest vocals from Audio Angel (Rashida Clendening), and the space-age lounge music of "Somesing." A band that plays as much as it programs, STS9's compositions have a natural flow and integrity, as if they were grown as much as computed. "Tokyo" is a hypnotic jam of slide guitar and electronic atmospheres lashed together on a kinetic groove sliced by dream sequence logic. Imagine the Grateful Dead going glitch on Miles Davis's Bitches Brew and you have a good sense of STS9's sound and why they've played events from the alternative festival Coachella to jam-band gatherings like Bonaroo. Artifact doesn't look back, but forward to a horizon still a few moments in the future. --John Diliberto
Customer Reviews:
Stunning.......2007-05-06
Regardless of their stature as a live act, this is a wonderful recording. Strong, interesting songs, beautifully played and produced, make this album an easy 5 stars.
Studio STS9.......2006-04-29
It is always difficult to listen to a great live band confined to the studio, but STS9 seems to bridge a gap. While I can easily say that STS9 is curently one of the strongest bands on tour today, studio work sometimes will take a second seat. However, in the case of Artifact, the tribe seems to weave a layer and texture of music that is often lost on traditional records. Innovation, energy and spirit define STS9 as best as i can. As the leaders of the "innovation generation" of the jam band scene, a la Disco Biscuits and Brothers Past to name a few, STS9 gives an energy that can't be matched. "Artifact" is just another step in blazing the ever evolving sonic soundscape that is Sound Tribe Sector 9
Lush Livetronica.......2005-09-08
Far from being sleep inducing, new age, elevator fluff, this is an uplifting, atmospheric album. Imagine a less brooding Massive Attack or a more adventurous Thievery Corporation. The music here is rich with sophisticated (but accessible) beats, a strong sense of musical exploration, and yet, capable of the wistful moments found in Kevin Shields' Lost in Translation soundscapes. This largely instrumental affair does feature a handful of melodic and soulful vocal tracks reminiscent of M.J. Cole, Koop, and Zero 7. Fans of Tortoise are easily encouraged to experience the wide array of musical ideas and sonic textures that Sound Tribe Sector 9 have produced.
Rather than songs engineered by those with a technological approach, musicianship plays the key role on this warm and intellectual electronica. Supposedly, STS9 are wonderful on stage (I admit to never having seen them live) but this review is based on the album in question and not on the group's direction or capabilities beyond the studio. A truly refreshing and lyrical album, `Artifact' is worthy of investigation.
Sorry Effort.......2005-09-05
I was really excited about this album and I can not even begin to express what a total disappointment it was. I kept thinking the next track would have some life or some beat and it never got going. Before you invest in this maybe pick up a live show somewhere --if they allow taping of course-- and see for yourself if you can stomach STS9. Still can't believe how overwhelmingly BORING this album is/was. And believe me I have an open mind to the type of cutting edge experimental music this is trying to be.
Much Better Live.......2005-08-02
STS9 has defined a new genre with their latest studio work: Elevator Trance. This album works better than a studio album. I came back from a concert festival fresh from a stunning STS9 show. I thought they were awesome, so I picked up this album. Yawn....use it as a sleeping pill if anything.

One of America's finest undiscovered singer-songwriters, Chapman lost her husband to cancer in 1995, and this emotionally rich collection details her process of loss, reconciliation, and healing. Jim Ed Norman's strong production ranges from piano-based ballads ("The Color of Roses," "No One Knows But You") to exuberant rootsy pop (lead single "Happy Girl," "All the Time in the World"). This is music with a tender grasp on the big picture. --Jeff Bateman

Note that this Amazon listing is for the cd SINGLE, and not for the whole album. In spite of that, all the reviews and information suggest a full album, as do the prices of the used items. I recommend contacting seller to determine what you are actually going to get. I thought I was ordering the whole album and got only a single.
broken hearted.......2007-06-06
my husband passed away recently and i am devastated by his death because though we were separated, we were extremely close and each other's best friend. I still can't believe that he's gone and it's been really hard for me but I heard this song "Sand and Water" on the radio last night and it just expressed my exact feelings..it is such a beautiful song that touched my soul and completely resonated with me. I am definitely buying this album and I would recommend it to anyone who has suffered a loss of their soulmate or loved one. I feel that it was no accident that i heard this song and i thank the artist.
don't miss.......2007-02-10
I honestly cannot listen to this CD without shedding a tear. The songwriting is masterful and haunting.
Good Grief........2006-11-08
Wow! I have worked in death and dying for 27 years, and this album is now my favorite for beautifully expressing grief. Composing these works after the loss of her dearly beloved husband, as well as her own battle with cancer, Ms. Chapman poignantly captured the depths of loss, memories, the struggle to go on, and the hope of meeting again. When my best friend died last year, I put on this album whenever I needed a good cry. And oh, how it worked. Capturing all these incredibly intimate emotions without falling into a maudlin or self-pitying trench is truly a magnificent feat. I am grateful to the artist for sharing her journey and recommend the purchase of this CD whole-heartedly.
A good discovery..........2006-06-21
I wasn't familiar with Beth before I got this album, but I am very pleased with it. She has a reamarkably clear and soothing voice. The songs, "No One Knows But You" & "Sand and Water" are deeply moving, evocative, sad, but she rocks too with "Happy Girl" and the musically sly mix of guitar and horn on "Heads Up For The Wrecking Ball". It's a great album for lovers or for when you're thinking of one. I will explore more of her music in the future.

Awesome Set!.......2007-07-01
I am a huge fan of Jerry Goldsmith. They did a great job preserving his vision. I can listen to this collection for hours. Great music!
Elmer Bernstein Film Music Collection.......2006-11-03
This is compilation of hit film music from one of the greatest composers in motion pictures. What is surprising though is the music not included like the Ghost And The Darkness, the 13th Warrior, Rudy and others. To be sure, 4 discs are not enough for a composure of this stature. THe recording, however, is an "engineering masterpiece" which makes the music even more enjoyable than when you first heard it at the movies. When are we ging to get the music that was omittd from this compilaton?
Overall a strong Goldsmith sampler.......2006-04-11
Okay, this is a CD review, so the focus is on music, but I've got to say this first: this has got to be a contender for the ugliest cover art ever. I mean, come on...instead of a tribute to the composer, the cover looks like someone spilled a glass of merlot over a NASA photo.
Fortunately, even an ugly cover will not ruin good music. And the good news is that I'd say about 75 percent of the music is good....and on a 4 cd set, that's a lot. Like other Silva compilations, the strength of this compilation is the variety. There are selections from the big releases (Star Trek, Omen, Rambo), but there is also a healthy dose of tracks from the smaller releases(Under Fire, Lionheart, The Swarm).
Two examples come to mind. Capricorn One and The Great Train Robbery are two movies that are not exactly household names today, but are dominated by two of Goldmith's finest main themes. The City of Prague Philharmonic come through with terrific renditions. And there are plenty of other strong performances...a few being concert versions conducted by Goldsmith himself. Suprisingly, "The Wind and the Lion" works, which is no small accomplishment given the ferentic original performance of "Raisuli Attacks".
It's not a complete success. A few of the performances fall flat, particularly some of the more inventive scores. Total Recall is just bad, mangling the performance with poor percussion and synthesizer choices to boot. Also a letdown is the Klingon Attack from the first Star Trek movie. The Prague Philhamonic attempt doesn't sound bad--it's just that once you've heard the original soundtrack's "blaster beam" with enough bass to rattle your teeth...well let's just say Silva's version is a little tinny in comparison.
But I shouldn't dwell on the negative. Overall, this is a strong sampler of Goldsmith's variety. There are plenty of quality performances here, and despite a few omissions (noticeably Planet of the Apes)this is a very good release from Silva.
Jerry Goldsmith - 40 years of pleasure.......2006-02-22
It was wonderful to hear Mr. Goldsmith's music that went all the way back to The Man from UNCLE, The Waltons, Dr Kildare, etc. And then to hear his music up to the present. The man was a genius!
Almost the perfect compilation.......2005-12-31
Age has its value.... This sweeping collection of compositions brings back so many great memories. This collection shows how significant Goldsmith was for both the movie screen and the small screen. With such a grand collection, every reader can be assured that at least one movie or TV program they like or remember had Goldsmith's contribution. It was an amazing life and the collection well worth having.
However, as sweepig as it is, there are a few holes in the selection. "First Contact", one of the sweetest and richest compositions from the Star Trek is absent. "The Ghost and the Darkness" is missing and the "Medicine Man" music should include the theme song. By dwelling on several selections from the Blue Max, these were squeezed out. Three full and important movie themes got the axe.
However, all but "The Ghost and the Darkness" are readily available and not overly expensive as is the "Ghost" CD. This is a must have for the TV and movie music fan.
Before there was Hans Solo there was Napolean Solo, before ER there was Dr. Kildare. Jerry Goldsmith IS Sci-Fi. "Resistance is futile.. you MUST assimilate this CD collection."

Album Description
Moon And Sand captivates the listener with the opener: I've Never Been In Love Before by Frank Loesser. Proulx displays his wares on voice and piano with a fresh arrangement that sets the pace for what follows. The title track, Moon And Sand, showcases Proulx's warm voice. The pace slows with a lovely rendition of the song Alice In Wonderland by Sammy Fain and Bob Hilliard. The first of two originals, My Love For You, is a lush ballad with a beautiful melody. Featured on the piano is Tamir Hendelmen, who also co-produced the release with Proulx. The Duke Ellington/Bob Russell composition, Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me, follows with a nice intro by Proulx on vocals and Berghofer on bass. The pace quickens with an Afro-Cuban-infused arrangement of the standard What A Difference A Day Makes by Stanley Adams and Maria Grever. The second original, Stuck In A Dream With Me, features inventive lyrics by K. Lawrence Dunham, who also contributed lyrics to My ! Love For You. Proulx's impressive voice stands out on this enchanting ballad. The line-up continues with high energy on There Is No Greater Love by Marty Symes and Isham Jones. The group shows energy on this track, which culminates with a fine solo by LaBarbera. I Should Care by Cahn, Stordahl and Weston follows and features swinging solos by Proulx and Berghofer. Cole Porter's So In Love is a tender arrangement showcasing great harmony by the group. Proulx's scatting opens the Brooks Bowman composition East of The Sun. The brilliant unison interplay of the group is exhibited on the Cole Porter classic You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To. The session comes to a close with a lovely rendition of I Can't Make You Love Me by Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin.

Cute as a button..........but............2007-06-15
.....looks do not a singer make. While others here may include friends, or cohorts.....or even those in love.....again, that does not this man other than an average vocalist make---at best.
Sorry to say, but all I hear is a voice that too often leans to "mono-tony;" one with a tendancy to stretch for (or avoid) upper level tones, and one that often treads closely to falling off-key.
ON THE OTHER HAND, his pianism IS what his vocalizings are not: spot-on and vivacious (easily worth 4-Stars). While not a jazz afficionado, these two things I can plainly see.....er, hear. Perhaps my fifty-some years of keyboard, vocal and orchestral listening have helped me out here (but, then, what could an average joe like me know).
Best to you, John Proulx.

easy listening in the best sense.......2007-06-05
I'm a jazz purist, but I what like most about this album is that I can play it when I have all my non-jazz fan friends over and they really appreciate it--yet I also really enjoy it myself. The one reviewer below mentioned Chet Baker, but Mr. Proulx's slightly flat, high tenor vibrato-less voice is, to my ears, pretty common in a certain type of jazz-influenced "adult contemporary" pop, which is why my friends like it. The difference, though, is that Proulx has a great, no compromising jazz feel, and his piano playing is strong and straight ahead. My favorites are I Should Care, which contains some really nice harmonic and melodic alterations, and East of the Sun, with its laid-back voice in unison with the piano opening. The one song I really don't care for is "I Can't Make You Love Me," but it is nicely placed at the end of the CD, so I can cut it off while enjoying everything else that came before.
Nice initial work for the MAXX-JAZZ label.......2007-04-16
John Proulx's newest CD, Moon and Sand, catches the ear of the traditional jazz vocalist admirer almost automatically. Chuck Berghofer and Joe LaBarbera team up with Proulx's vocal and piano skills and create an impeccable blend of sounds. These sounds simultaneously respect the traditional tunes and Proulx's two originals sound as good as (or better) than many of the traditional writers of songs from the American Popular Songbook. I thoroughly enjoyed this musical work and hope that John Proulx will continue to work hard in creating even greater works of music. I would like to thank all of the artists on this particular CD for their hard work and contributions for those of us who KNOW what quality sounds are!
Moon and Sand.......2006-11-06
Marvelous. John Proulx's voice is soft and smooth. He clearly loves jazz. A must in everyone's collection.
a voice better than chet baker and a competent jazz pianist.......2006-09-01
I agree with the reviewer that found John's voice to be like Chet Baker. John enunciates the lyrics clearly, has control of pitch, scats creatively, and performs the romantic tunes charmingly and without bitterness. If you live in the Los Angeles area, try to catch him live. As for this CD, with Chuck Berghofer on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums, the musical quality rates at the top.

Led Kaapana, a visible mainstay in the Hawaiian Islands scene of slack-key guitarists, presents his first solo studio release here. It's an unadorned gem, needing none of the embellishment characteristic of his 1999 release, Waltz of the Wind, a collection of collaborative music featuring country and Cajun musicians. Though Waltz was intriguing for its wide-ranging samples of fingerpicking, Black Sand will better satisfy purists of the slack-key tradition. The distinct tunings of Hawaiian slack key already give the guitar a crisp yet deeply melodic tone, and in Led's hands, the genre's hues deepen even more brilliantly. His touch is tender, his tone emotive, and his tunes pastoral and melodic. There's nothing astounding here, but such is the case with recent releases from fellow slack-key masters Keola Beamer and Dennis Kamakahi, but like those albums, Black Sand is quietly eloquent and dignified, exquisite for its simple essence alone. --Karen K. Hugg
Customer Reviews:
Fantastic performance almost ruined by bad sound engineering.......2007-03-17
Just purchased Black Sand and almost really enjoyed it. The artistry is there, with Ledward displaying his fantastic slack key abilities. However each track is marred by an annoying use of electronic tremolo (possibly with reverb - sorry if inaccurate description, I'm not a sound engineer) throughout - so much so that I was completely distracted by it. Why someone thought this necessary is beyond me. The unadulterated sound would have been much preferred. Still worth buying for any Kaapana or slack key fan, but a bit of a disappointment.
Beautiful Slack Key.......2007-03-08
This is a wonderful piece of work by one of slack key's best talents. Ledward plays his own unique style of slack key, and this album has plenty to recommend it. Close your eyes, let the music take you to the land of swaying palm trees, active volcanos, and black sand beaches!
Classic Led .......2007-01-10
This is a good example of classic Led kiho'alu guitar virtuosity that, for me, is improved by a total lack of Led's falsetto singing. Many fans of Led and Hawaiian music will disagree, but I personally dislike the falsetto singing style. This is mostly an instrumental album of six and twelve string guitar, with an interesting addition of two pieces played on the autoharp. This is a solid album that will appeal to any fans of Hawaiian Slack Key guitar.
Excellent CD.......2005-07-25
This really is an excellent CD. I bought it without knowing anything about Led Kaapana and I made a good pick. In my opinion, there's only one song I don't care for, but all others sound great. Excellent island flavor; no imitation Hawaiian sounds that some artists do to make you think you're in Hawaii. Pick it up...you'll be glad you did.
Beautiful. Great to work to!.......2005-04-09
Beautiful instrumentals. Intricate and focused.
I play Led Kaapana instrumental CDs when I have to fully concentrate -- writing or analyzing something difficult.
If you get a chance to see him live, do so. His playfulness and sense of humor adds tremendously to his excellent live performance. The record company has an email list that announces his tours.
