Good Album.....BAD Re-Issue!!!!.......2006-09-14

I bought the cassette of the album back in the late 80's and really liked it. When I saw the re-issue CD was out I sold my cassette and bought the CD. BIG MISTAKE!!! I have 3 problems with this re-issue: 1) a whole verse (about a minute of the song)is taken out of "Love Kills", 2)the ending of "Breakout" is gone, and 3) the bonus tracks are just very boring demos (one is a drum solo? and the other is Vinnie puttering around on an acoustic guitar). I would much rather have the ORIGINAL version of this album on cassette with all the original tracks intact than this butchered remastered CD!

Here comes the Invasion.......2006-05-25

It amazes me that so few people know that most of Slaughter came from the lineup on this CD. The vocals right off are unmistakeably those of Mark Slaughter. I would say in the world of Vinnie Vincent that this was his most notable CD. The lyrics are straight 80's cheese, but the performance on all aspects is pretty impressive. Vinnie's lyrical aproach may be lacking, but he could slay a guitar like few can. If nothing else, get a copy of this just to hear the beginings of what would lead up to the band Slaughter.

So bad it's good.......2006-05-09

Vinnie Vincent is obviously a very talented guitar player, but his songwriting skills leave a lot to be desired. The former KISS guitarist embraced every single hair metal clich? he could find for his debut album, and then did it again for 1988's All Systems Go. Aside from some blazing guitar solos, there's really nothing on this album that you couldn't find everywhere else in 1988. And the lyrics - let's just say Vinnie "Shoot You Full of My Love" Vincent makes Spinal Tap look brilliant by comparison.

It's easy to rag on All Systems Go, but I actually have fond memories of this album from when I was younger, and it really does have its good points. First of all, you really can't deny Vinnie's talent. And there are a couple of standout tracks (Ashes to Ashes being a prime example). But the album's most notable feature is the presence of Mark Slaughter on vocals. Slaughter's high-pitched wail was the prefect counterpart to Vincent's frenetic playing.

The 2003 reissue of All Systems Go is a mixed blessing. It's good in that the out of print album is available again, and the remastered sound is a big improvement. The downside is that those dreadful lyrics are that much easier to hear.

All Systems Go would be the Vinnie Vincent Invasion's final album. Most of the band would join vocalist Mark Slaughter in the very successful band Slaughter, while Vinnie Vincent seemed to disappear for the better part of a decade.

All right I was very pleased with invasion and So i picked up all systems go, I don't care for this ablum much and heres why,
Every song on this album sounds like a song off the first album, hell some off the songs sound like the only differnce is the words, the two instrumentals suck and compare nothing to Aces Fractured mirror series. the guy on Vocals sounds like a wannabe of the first guy. it acutally sounds like they used voice effects on his vocals to make him sound like the previous singer.
whatever the case, I thought this ablum would grow on me but it is nothing original you get this album on the first album with differnt lyrics. sorry vinnie but this one sucked.
the only good song on here is let Freedom rock.

"All systems Go" - thanks to Mark and Dana .......2005-06-02

VVI's 2nd album is definitely the pinnacle of the ex-Kiss er's career... Why? Because he had the pleasure of working with 2 of the greatest rock and roll musicians of the 90's - Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum. Mark Slaughter's helium high vocals bring to life the rock standard `I love females' lyrics written by Vincent himself, whilst Dana's Bass lines give the songs unique rhythmic character making them a lot more definitive - opposed to the `Bass line that plays the guitar bit' which according to interviews of the day Vinnie wanted. It's no wonder that Mark and Dana bailed Vincent to work on their own band `Slaughter' and their 1st album went on to platinum sales with hit after hit. Even to this day Slaughter is an active band, still gigging and recording. Funny how after VVI Vincent disappeared... you do the math.

Terrible.......2006-06-28

Rocket from the Crypt is easily my favorite band, and until I heard this album I thought they could do no wrong. However, All Systems Go Volume 1 proved me wrong. Even for a b-sides collection this is really awful. Most of the songs aren't even listenable, and the ones that are are usually ruined by stupid sound effects or vocal distortion. "Live the Funk" starts out well, but is unlistenable after the first minute due to Speedo repeating the same line roughly 83 times. They completely butchered their cover of the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace" by adding some stupid talking over the song; unfortunate because it would have been a good cover. If you're looking for Rocket from the Crypt, I would suggest "Scream Dracula, Scream" or "RFTC" over this rubbish.

PRESS DARLINGS.......2003-10-02

Ok. I was just listening to "Press Darlings" from the ADAM AND THE ANTS LP "Kings of the Wild Frontier" (Epic) 1980 and said to myself "why have I heard this song before?" RFTC shortly came to mind (it's been about 9 years since I've listened to "All Systems Go") and I feared plagiary on the part of Sir Reis. To my relief and continuing affirmation of his pimpness, Reis was in-the-know even then. A ballsy cover of a great song. Goddamn; is there a more vital rocker?

this reissued collection of RFTC's singles takes a few listenings before one can appreciate the songs, but it is worth the effort. though there isn't a radio-friendly song on the entire hour-long compilation (although "pressure's on" comes close) there are enough distorted vocals, ringing guitars, and honking horns to make any rocket fan happy. standout tracks include the bizarre "lefty", "normal carpet ride", "press darlings", and "the paste that you love". the mixing on the album sounds like a cross between CIRCA NOW and THE STATE OF ART IS ON FIRE, which means that this cd is a dense wall of sound in which picking out individual instruments is a foolhardy exercise in futility. just enjoy the mess.

Eighteenth Street Lounge has positioned itself as the ultimate chill-out label, purveying a cosmopolitan blend of vocal and instrumental styles with a strong Brazilian influence over jazzy, laid-back grooves. However, even the most dedicated lounge hipster likes to pick up the pace once in a while, and All Systems Are Go Go fills that need handily. Alex Gimeno (a.k.a. Ursula 1000) has previously released The Now Sound of Ursula 1000, which featured his own music; this CD is a continuous DJ mix of international tracks of what the Germans call "Easylistening." The record kicks off with a blare of horns from Japan's ECD, remixed by Pizzicato Five's Yasuharu Konishi. The music is sounds like the movie scores of '60s and '70s composer Peter Thomas bolstered by the late '90s big-beat drum tracks that persist throughout the CD. Berlin's Bungalow Records is represented with a Southern-fried organ-groove track from Le Hammond Inferno, and England's Skeewiff follow with a kitschy lounge-flavored track that's characteristic of the Brighton sound. Other ESL friends such as Nicola Conte put in appearances, and a track from England's Jadell is spun around the guitar riff from Can's "I Want More" (fresh from its appearance on the Workshop track of the Deutscher Funk compilation). While the beat is a bit too unvarying throughout, there are some welcome breaks from the horn-heavy lounge-exotica musical emphasis; the Hardwire and Trio Electro tracks include some hip-hop samples, and Los Chicharrons and El Loco Gringo's appealingly ersatz Latin styles hold up the latter half of the mix. --Bob Bannister

While this is an interesting CD, it is mostly background instrumental music as opposed to sing-along, I-really-have-to-dance-right-now music. I recommend it, but I definitely prefer Ursadelica for its fun factor.

This is one I picked up on a whim and it's now one of my all time favorite records. I cannot suggest this record enough. If you have any doubts about the talents of Ursula 1000 this one will clear them all up. Awesome.

What A Blast.......2005-09-10

I don't know what younger people think of this, but if you were born in the 50s I can't understand how you could fail to love it. The mix is spot-on perfect and the tunes remind me of what we used to hear when we were 16 and stayed up until 3AM passing J's, drinking Coors and watching old movies. This isn't serious stuff, so I'm reluctant to review it on the same level as FSOL or Autechre, but it deserves 5 stars for succeeding perfectly at what it sets out to accomplish. Ursulla 1000 does a better mix than many far more prestigious "underground" DJ's and this is a masterpiece of its kind, better than the stuff he writes himself, I'm afraid. Listening to it late last night I actually found myself laughing out loud during during such perfectly titled tunes as "60s Porno Bird," they were so get-down funky it was like someone getting inside your brain and trying to tickle you to death from the inside out. Tower of Power once asked "What is Hip?" This is, man, and anyone who doesn't love it must be on some seriously bad head trip. Indispensible for all but the grim and humorless.

He's done it again. What a brilliant piece of samplership! This Album makes me want to party, its a sound piece of mixing and great choice of sassy sounds, which have been blended into a perfect shake. Anyone who is a big fan of bigbeat, nu-jazz and the funky side of retro breaks cannot miss this. The now sound is also a brilliant pick. I have gotta say that this album has topped my list effortlessly. Its cheerful, fun, and funky. Buy it!

surprisingly good even with repeated listens because the quality of the studio production in high. Its very upbeat and tongue-in-cheek, and most of it is very danceable. Poeple who take pop music seriously will hate it, but then again they probably wouldn't be looking at this review in the first place

Excellent Collection From A Great Band.......2006-05-24

For those who may not know, Raven was one of the many New Wave Of British Heavy Metal bands. They played a vital role in the formation of thrash and speed metal with their exciting blend of old fashioned rock 'n' roll with lightning-fast rhythms, backed by the falsetto vocals of John Gallagher (on a side note, I'm certain that Justin Hawkins of The Darkness must own a few Raven records; his voice and singing style is remarkably similar to Gallagher's). They called their unique style "atheltic rock."

'All Systems Go' is a compilation released by Sanctuary Records a few years ago. It contains tracks taken from the band's discography on the NWOBHM powerhouse label Neat Metal. The disc starts with a bang with Raven's biggest hit "Don't Need Your Money," and never slows down from there. Other standout songs include the seven-minute sludge of "Tyrant Of The Airways," the AC/DC-ish "All For One," as well as their furious cover of "Born To Be Wild."

As I write this review, there seems to be two versions of this disc on Amazon. I think that one must be the imported version, which is slightly more expensive and takes longer to ship out, and one is the U.S. version. They both have the same tracklisting, so if you're in the States, go ahead and get the U.S.-made disc.

Highly recommended for every fan of hard-driving rock!

Crankin' it out!- again..........2000-12-02

I have been a RFTC fan for quite some time, but I never thought their studio albums(and I own 'em all except RFTC) caught the frenzied greatness that lies inherent in this band... that is with the exception of their All Systems Go I and II! These two albums capture, by far, RFTC's rawest energy this side of live. I think the reason why these albums really pop is that the songs don't try to neatly fit together into a neatly packaged 'album/concept' and that these two albums, being the lovely b-side comps that they are, don't get lost in over-production... ASG II contains numerous musical gems... of the ones you can listen to above, I'd highly recommend 'Tarzan', 'Bird-Man' and 'Ciao Patsy'... some other greats include the poppy 'Cheetah', the furious 'Turkish Revenge', the fantastic 'Strangehold', the rich 'Hot Heart', the cool 'I Drink Blood', the covered 'Who Needs You', etc, etc, etc...

Listening to this brilliant album makes Reis' decision to put Drive Like Jehu(Now, those are GREAT albums!) on hold for RFTC a lot less baffeling... great album at a great price!

Inexpensive and worth your while.......2000-06-17

For a B-sides collection, this is some pretty impressive stuff. There's definitely some gold buried in amongst the rubble here. Some great songs from the RFTC sessions with Holly Golightly on background vocals, some tracks where they tweak with the knobs for some bass-blowout or ultra-crunchy guitars, the prerequisite covers. With so many tracks, and the fact that they are all b-sides, there is some subpar filler here. But the good material is too good to miss.

Worth your $6.62.......2000-02-12

Certainly, a lot of the stuff on here is expendable, but for the 9 or 10 songs that are great, it's an amazing deal for $6.62.

If you liked the Holly Golightly appearance on "RFTC," you'll be happy with her guest vocals on four songs on this disc.

Great cover of a Real Kids song. Why isn't "Tarzan" a million-seller? It's RFTC at their best.

amazing rock & roll noise.......1999-11-22

This is the sequel to "All Systems Go" obviously, and it contains the singles released by Rocket From the Crypt while they were releasing their last two albums. The songs range from almost radio friendly (Tarzan) to completely radio hostile (UfoUfoUfo). There are also a number of cover tunes, which the band handles with their usual enthusiasm. Less noisy then ASG volume one, ASG volume two is still a celebration of loud guitars, pounding drums, honking horns, and amplified vocals.
