Editorial Reviews Greg Behrendt does not rock… in the traditional sense that is. Doing his first stand up sets in his early 20's, Behrendt spent the first six years of his comedy career thinking of stand up as his side gig as he slugged it out in a series of doomed alternative rock bands. A few years and hundreds of performances later, with his stand up skills honed but no record deal in sight, Greg came to the realization that those around him knew all along - his path to fame and fortune... "I went to see the Foo Fighters the other night and as I approached the venue, the Security Guard says, 'Excuse me. I'm going to have to take your chain wallet.' So I ask, 'Why, because of the recent terrorism and the upgrades in security?' 'No, Because you're 38. Why does having a family mean you have to be a different person? Does moving to the suburbs for better school districts mean that you have to wear pleated khaki shorts when you mow the lawn? What's wrong with having more in common with your neighbor's son than his Mr. Fix It dad who's only three years your senior? "…I don't have the guy gene. I can't fix it. You give me an hour, instructions and the proper tools and I'll still wind up in a pool of my own blood. My wife asked me to fix the hole in the fence so the dogs don't get out and I was like, 'Yeah we might as well just shoot the dogs Willing to take the "uncool" hit for everybody. Greg brings the deepest, darkest fears of becoming a no-longer-relevant Gen-Xer to the surface, deconstructs the notion of "cool" and offers in it's place a new definition for adulthood.
