Singles: 1969-1993
Editorial Reviews

A more exhaustive selection than the one-disc Changesbowie, The Singles also falls much harder on the idiosyncratic side--a perfect place for a Bowie retrospective. For every "Fame," there's a "Sorrow"; for every "Let's Dance," a "Beauty and the Beast." This record also does the right thing by focusing on every facet of Bowie's '70s output and breezing quickly past the ever-blander post-"Modern Love" era. Even if you're a Bowie fan who leans toward having everything, this is about as everything as a compilation of A-sides can be. --Rickey Wright --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Incomparable.......1999-10-08
No other artist makes me feel the way David Bowie does. He is beyond words. An awesome compilation.
talk about over-rated.......1999-09-26
just because he had some great songs in the 70's and a few in the 80's doesn't make him out to be a legend.in fact he hasn't had a good good song in almost 20 years not since lets dance.it's been mainly image.his business smarts are ahead of the turn with the music bonds but his music nowadays just lacks any kind of substance.he writes and plays instruments and is the king of image make over but that hasn't got a thing to with the music.this to me is the only thing worth owning by this artist.he is a good stage act.
Some good songs but awful vocals........1999-09-18
There are songs on this album that any artists would be proud to write. There are also vocals on this album that any artist would shoot himself over. Space Oddity, Starman, Heroes are all good songs, great(maybe) but Bowie`s singing is only comparible to that of Ian Brown`s of the Stone Roses. His seeming inhability to sing high or low notes is frustrating but why he chooses to talk himself through a song is beyong belief. He should have written the songs and sat back while someone else stood in the limelight.
Great stuff.......1999-09-16
I don't know about any other compilation, and I don't even own the second tape (bought the 1st one used), but I can say that every single song on just the first tape is top class. Give in to temptation and try out stuff by Ziggy and his many egos.
what no more stars.......1999-08-30
this was the best collective album set produced..and thats all I have to say about that.
