Big Country's Greatest 12" Hits is basically just what you'd expect (only better). The eleven songs on this disc are 12" remix versions of some of the best output from early in the Scottish band's career, 1983-1986 (it's too bad the band's later output hasn't received this treatment). The big hits are given the extended treatment and they sound terrific. The highlights are too many to mention--essentially the entire disc and what is particularly striking is the phenomenal drumming of Mark Brzezicki, which is front and center. The extended guitar playing is also brilliant (as you'd expect). Not to be missed and very highly recommended.
