Nothing Here to Sell
Nothing Here to Sell, Music, T. Strickland, Pop, Rock
Shannon Stanfield,The News-Sentinel
I just got my hands on T. Strickland's new CD, "Nothing Here to Sell," and I think she could have picked a better title. On her CD, the popular Knoxville singer-songwriter wears her heart on her sleeve, dishing out 10 genuinely gutsy love songs. My faves are the two most up-beat tunes: "Two Sides" and the "Baker Street" saxophone-vibed "Lemming." Here's to local photographer Christian Lange for a great cover photo as well.

Album Description
Acoustic Rock/Folk-Pop singer/songwriter original music. With equal parts folk, pop, and rock, Strickland is a powerful new voice gaining attention in the realm of so-called women's music. The 10 tracks on "nothing here to sell" provide a myriad of texture infused with a language that speaks to men, women, young, and old alike. Often described as "Amy Ray meets Melissa Etheridge", T's music contains passion that anyone can understand.

wonderful harmony with haunting violin licks.......1999-07-28

Intense, a real emotional trip.......1999-03-12
My favorite cut is "Two Sides". T. captures the emotions of jealousy, fidelity, and love in such a way that you are pulled along in complete understanding. For a great upbeat, dance-around-the-house song I go to "Lie to Me". And if it is a love song you want there is one that captures fantastic emotion and a beautiful sound without ever using the word 'love'.
T's words draw incredible images and her emotional range has something for everyone. She has put together a band that is the perfect compliment to her voice.
Looking forward to her next album!
