If you want the coolest christmas cd of music and sounds like you've never heard, this has got to be it. My dad's favorite group the Light Crust Doughboys. I'm trying to play electric guitar like this. Nookie is the coolest player. I hope someday to play guitar just like this and to play swan christmas and christmas carol rock and the other songs.

What an album! This is a seasonal offering for those of us who get tired of the same seasonal fare...As a matter-of-fact, I play this CD every week, several times a week. You haven't heard tradtional Christmas carols until you've heard them by Ventures' great, Nokie, and 50 tenor banjos! Nope this is not your typical, elevator Christmas music! It's got feeling and soul! For you historians, this is the last CD released by tenor banjo king, Smokey Montgomery of The Light Crust Doughboys, during his famous 88-year life-line. His banjo heritage is obvious throughout, as is The Light Crust Doughboys' folk and gospel heritage...But wait, there's even some yuletide surf instrumentals that are worth the price of the entire CD by themselves! Innovative, super producer and Ventures protege Art Greenhaw evidently brought together his guitar idol and Doughboy bandmates for this folk-oriented Christmas gift that keeps on giving---every week of the year! I predict it'll be a classic just like THE VENTURES' CHRISTMAS ALBUM! It's completely different than that one---all except for that awesome guitar tone of the meloday master, Nokie Edwards. Run-don't walk to Amazon.com for this one friends, a Christmas album for fans nine to ninety, a country/folk gem, and a smile bringer-on for every day of the year...Yep, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and he looks a lot like Nokie Edwards and the Kings of Texas Swing, The Light Crust Doughboys...
