Pre-Millennium Blues

Paul Dickinson. The Pulse TC.
His songs pulsate with a bizzare energy that becomes at times extremely hypnotic.

5 out of 5 stars PRE-MILLENIUM BLUES, a Nocturnal Road Trip.......2000-12-18

When I first heard the song SITUATION on Michael O'Neill's hynotic release, PRE-MILLENIUM BLUES, I might as well have been watching a Wim Wenders film from the back seat of an old Cadillac, roaming up the Pacific Coast Highway. These songs get under your skin in a way that is deeply personal, yet somewhat remote and detached, like someone is filming your autobiographic road trip. The experience stays with you long after you heard the songs.

PRE-MILLENIUM BLUES is undoubtedly the most original and significant CD in my collection. The undercurrent tones of Mazzy Star, Leonard Cohen, and Lou Reed are mixed with an electronic sound scape so soothing and entrancing, you want to play it again to get to the deeper layers. And there are several. Very unique sound. If you are partial to provocative soundtrack environments, or are looking for music that inspires real thinking and images, this is a definite must.
