Opening A Can Of Whoop Ass On Ya Moms! [Explicit Lyrics]

About the Artist
A small Michigan town just north of Detroit holds what some say is the next BIG BANG! in Hip Hop. Without a doubt these cats have taken the defining sound to yet another level. Their distinctive style brings live instruments with a loop based feel imbedded in a powerful lyrical melody.

In 1997, the family was founded, created and brought to life with only one thing in mind...freedom to create without boundaries. Throughout the following years (and 3 full length CD's) the line up struggled to survive, and in mid 2000 the group dismembered and went their separate ways. In 2002 the family reunited and immediately began catching up with "The Red & Black EP". This was a simple collection of four re-recorded unreleased songs and one hot off the press. Meanwhile, working to regain the musical stability that ignited the projects very existence, they stumbled upon their freedom. And with this in mind the music truly began to flourish. After working with several local producers and creating nothing but disappointment. The group decided to take it back to their roots and face the music as the sole producer. In 2003 "The House Phunk Laboratory" was fired up, dusted off and redirected to create the next "2 Phat & the Family Funktion" voyage.

2004- The 15 month studio binge pays off, the long awaited and highly anticipated 5th full length CD has been officially released on June 25th, 2004.

The group is currently busy promoting their new release titled: "Opening A Can Of Whoop Ass On Ya Mom's! (2004)

5 out of 5 stars Fresh new music for 2005!!.......2005-04-02

This is one of my favorite CD's to jam to. It's a funk rock blend with a taste of hip hop. Step Family, Turnin' Wheel, Nothing more, and Next Revolution jump start the disc and after that it gets a little dark with a sharp melodic edge!!

This is a great CD for just about anyone!
