About the Artist
John Oakes is a singer/songwriter/musician from New Jersey.

He began his career as a drummer performing at the age of 12 with his father's jazz band. He toured the US at the age of 23 in 1996 playing drums for Chubby Checker the world famous twister! He left the tour after 6 months to persue writing original music. He has also played drums for "The Platters" and "The Marvelettes". His true passion lies in performing original music. Now, at the age of 27, he has released one solo album and he is almost finished with his second. He records many of the instruments and vocals on the albums but he calls on his pals to help with the recordings.

If you thought this was a great CD, you should hear the "I'm an Acorn, I'm a Tree" single, and soon to be released second album.
