...And The Gods Made Wars., Music, White Rabbit Cult
Predrag Delibasich: UZURLIKZURLI
From the opening track, "Invocation AC99", we realize that White Rabbit Cult have the 'electronics' and that they're gonna use it. Same as later on with "Sleeper" they fill the room with surreal wall of all sorts of sounds, reminiscent of Faust circa "Faust Tapes". Both songs are quite mesmerizing and should not be attempted to listening late at night at full blast, unless you want your neighbours to call the cops. Never in my life I came across an album so diverse in style as "...and the Gods Made wars." that actually didn't suck, and that's where W.R.C genius lies. They weren't afraid to try a few different 'options', which paid well off at the end. I can only hope this is not their one and only effort and judging by the news that just came in (White Rabbit Cult are rehearsing for live shows) we've got a lot more to hear from them. Buy this album before they become 'cool'/die in the mysterious plane crash at the peak of their carrer/even worse, before it sells out and becomes an expensive collectable item!

Unlike most commercial garbage you can find on the music market these days, this CD actually has a message, and a message that makes sense. White Rabbit Cult start the CD (track #1: "Invocation AC99") by paying homage to Jimi Hendrix's "...And the Gods Made Love." from the Electric Ladyland CD. The album deals with two basic concepts, and those are religion and war. In the news, the combination of the two has traditionally been viewed as something "bad", bringing about misery and devastation. ... read more

However, in the "...And the Gods Made Wars." story we immediatiely learn that -- contrary to what we might learn from the media -- the "good guys" are not all that good, while the "bad guys" are not so evil either (track #2: "Collateral Damage"). As a matter of fact, as the CD draws to its end (track #8: "AnandaShiva Extention"), we are not really sure if there are any good or bad guys.
Just like in the great Bhagavat Gita, where the battlefield is used as a setting to learn the Ultimate Truth, the "...And the Gods Made Wars." ends with the message of enlightenment, while the concept of love permeats the entire CD (tracks #3: "Apocalypse Across the Sky", #4: "Heart Like a Hammer", #5 "AnandaShiva"). Love is generally confused for lust in the contemporary society, however when White Rabbit Cult say "love", they are not confused: they mean the Divine Love, the Love that conquers all.
In this age of confused values, this is a great CD to have.
WHITE RABBIT CULT: Finally! Alt. music for the 21st century.......2000-02-24
On their "...AND THE GODS MADE WARS." CD they combine everything from techno beats & industrial samples to hard driving metal guitars and apocalyptic vocals. They are psychedelic, they are punk, they are gothic, they are beautiful. Their disintegrating sounds will pierce deep into your consciousness to scoop out the stuff that is otherwise dormant in the remote recesses of your psyche.
They are highly spiritual, their music contains the architypal knowledge from ages ago. They are the true shamans of the modern world.
On their "...AND THE GODS MADE WARS." CD WHITE RABBIT CULT bring back the sense of ritual, the collective consciousness that kind of got lost in the 60's, but they bring it back in the most contemporary way possible...
Get their CD and crank it up...!
