About the Artist
Dr. Walesia Robinson Cates, born in Orlando, FL, to Evangelist Mrs. Sandy and Savannah Robinson, is a product of Christian education through college. She has been active in the church nationwide since her youth, as soprano vocalist, literature evangelist, youth leader, health presenter, soul-winner, and in other such ministries. She has served as vocalist for the Breath of Life Television Broadcast. As a published musician, her music is aired on radio stations in parts of the USA, as well as in Canada, Bermuda and Jamaica. Dr. Cates understands, appreciates and operates in her God-given blessings, talents and dominion. She celebrates true family unity and the chance to help families realize their full potential by following biblical principles. She is in love with the Supreme Family of God, which, she teaches, includes God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

    I'm writing this review with a little bias; I have heard Randa McNamara singing for some 40+ years, everything from folk songs and blues to gospel, country, and a lot of cabaret and show tunes. She has a deeply soulful voice, a great sense of humor, a gentle kindness, and a bountiful compassion. She's done extensive work with hospice agencies, and this album contains many songs that help people cope with loss, whether the loss of a love or the loss of a dream, or the simple passing from childhood to adulthood. I recommend it for anyone struggling with difficulty; it gives a person hope, and strength, to carry on. Randa is a great blues singer; she understands the texture of blues music, and can weave thru its patterns with the marvelous fundamental, basic thread of her earthy, soulful voice. She knows all about suffering, and loss, about the pain of living; and in contrast she also knows about the joy and laughter of living with a heart filled with love. The songs on this album reflect her humor and her sensibilities; it is a great combination of celebration, living with sorrow and happiness both. For anyone who has lost a love and found it again, this is the album. She will take you thru this journey. Sit down and listen. And enjoy.
