Dry River Fishing
Editorial Reviews
Album Description
For a band to come along and mix up bands like PEGBOY, HUSKER DU, LEATHERFACE, NAKED RAYGUN, THE RUTS, ANNALISE, mid-period BAD RELIGION, SNUFF and even CONSUMED and THE JAM is pretty unbelievable. For the end result to be as incredible as the new NO CHOICE album is even more unbelievable. That's why we've played these tracks for three months straight, and that's why "Dry River Fishing" is the first release for our label Newest Industry. It couldn't have been anything else.

Old Fart British Political Punk At It's Finest Hour!!.......2004-04-07
Well all I can say about this album is wow!!!!! I mean every single song just blew me away. This album first caught my eye when I downloaded 30 seconds of the first track (it opens with "If Logic's First..."). All that I needed to hear was the opening of the album with a few words by "Baby" Bush and I knew I was in for a fabulous listen. No Choice is such a great band because they combine so many different punk rock styles and make them all into one great style of their own. The lyrics are far above par of the typical political punk songs. Most bands will blatantly come out and tell everyone "**** the government, I hate America, yap yap yap," but No Choice looks at politics with an almost inquisitive, philosophical approach. In the opening track they simply ask, "Is no one watching, is no one listening? What does it take to stimulate us?" The album also encomppasses everything a fan of political music could want. They talk a little about war, about sweat shop labor, about suicide, about violence, and even have a slow, but great track on religion called "Prey". It is in that song that I have found probably one of the most meaningful lyrics I have ever heard in my life. When I hear the lead singer sing the words "1000 hail mary's can't erase your conscience, abused with the power that's invested in you. Don't look to your heavens seeking some kind of solice, don't forgive them father for they know just what they do!" Truly this album is worth a buy/burn/five finger discount/or even just a short listen. This cd represents what political punk is, and will always be.
