Album Description
"Nervous Splendor" is a spoken-word and music compilation featuring poems from all three of Keith Flynn's previous collections, The Talking Drum, The Book of Monsters, and The Lost Sea, as well as six new songs with a full band and several a cappella blues and gospel pieces. Recorded in Memphis and New York City, the music and lyrics are versatile and hard-hitting, with musical styles ranging from rootsy acoustic ballads to Americana to hard rock rave-ups. The Small Press Review describes this one of a kind album as "Blake doing rock and roll, filled with the spirit of Howling Wolf and Bill Monroe." Oyster Boy Review has called Keith Flynn, "an American Rimbaud, whose morality is stronger than the institutions which claim to govern us."
