The Unsound Series exists to make great home-recorded music available to the general public. Power pop, pure pop, classic pop... these terms have come to describe a very narrow musical form, and we would like to change that. Volume 1: Pop! is about variety.There are shades of early Merseybeat, "We can play our own instruments, thank you" Monkees, XTC... it's all here on one volume. Thanks to the artists who appear on this CD - they are the adventurers who have re-introduced us to pop the way it is meant to be.
