About the Artist
Jill Sissel, born in Salt Lake City, Utah, began playing the guitar at

the age of eight, professionally at eighteen, and is an accomplished musician

and songwriter. Jill released her first CD, The Builder, in 1998 and the

songs received rave reviews from listeners. The CD, with its pop, folk blend

features songs and ballads which are somple and straight forward, and was

nominated by JPFolks in the 1999 songwriting contest for Best Americana

Album.

Jill has opened for acts, Dan Seals, Tracy Lawrence, JoDee Messina

and Ty England, and her songs have been recorded by Bam Davis, Irene

Goodnight, and Susan Jayne. She has produced a movie soundtrack for

an independent film, Murphy’s Law; and has appeared on the Bluebird cafe’s

Chick Singer night. Jill released her 2nd CD, Love Knows no Distance,

in 2001, and gained another nomination from JPFolks for Best Song, and

Americana Album. 2003, marks yet another release for Jill Sissel,

Out of Nowhere. This CD shows her skill on guitar and other instruments

and musically it’s a great blend of Americana and acoustic roots rock.

Album Description
This CD is a catharsis of a series of events in my life. Moving to Nashville from Salt Lake City left me so homesick. One of the first songs coming out of that experience was "That I Know"; it conveys a message to those I left behind that although I am no longer there, they are still with me. "Lighthouse" is a song that always reminds me of hope. The solitary lighthouse has no other function than to help the sailors remember where the rocks are!

This CD is my guitar at work, and my songs speaking out as raw examples of emotion. One should buy it just for knowing it saved my sanity!

(No pressure or anything you guys!)
