About the Artist
Raymond is one of the most popular traditional country music song writers in Texas. He was born in Mexico, Missouri, but has since made Texas his home. He has been singing all his life and recorded his first album by the age of sixteen. In high school he formed his own band and after graduation went to Nashville, Tennessee to assist his dream and goal of obtaining a career in the music industry. As a performer, he has played with such greats as; George Jones, Hank Thompson, and Wanda Jackson. His performances include the Ozark Opry, with appearances on radio and television shows in Missouri and Texas. His skill as a musician and song writer is that of a born professional, who has natural star quality. He has written over 400 songs, six published songs, and two albums recorded to his credit. He has been a semi-finalist winner in the Lone Star Music Association Talent Contest, and the True Value Jimmy Dean Country Showdown Talent Contest, to name a few. His music industry memberships include the Fort Worth Songwriter's Association, the Lone Star Music Association, and affilliation with BMI. Award honors he has received are, Comedy Act of the Year 1999, Songwriter of the Year 1999, and Entertainer of the Year 1999, from the Frances Walsh Enterprises' 1st Annual Award Show. Ray has also received the Comedy Song of the Year 2000, and Songwriter of the Year 2000 from Walsh Enterprises 2nd annual award show in Granbury, Texas. Raymond brings an honest, down to earth approach to country music that has given him cause to be an audience favorite everywhere he performs.
