"his keen fascination with life's journey draws listeners closer to the memories and revelations that make it worth traveling"

About the Artist
In 1987 LJ Booth came out of the woodwork with YARNS. Sing Out! described this debut as "simply, great music", and added "I don't know how far he has strayed from Wisconsin thus far, but LJ Booth is one hell of a yarnspinner and singer...".

In the years following this first release, LJ was indeed traveling--playing folk clubs, festivals and college campuses from coast to coast--honing the skills of performance and establishing a stage presence that has become a trademark. His songs found... read more

5 out of 5 stars so freaking great.......2005-01-22

This guy is a perfect example of the ways artistic pursuit isn't always rewarded the way it should be. The real gems aren't recognized by the masses...maybe that's what makes them a treasure. Now if only LJ could put on a midriff baring top and shake it ala Britney or J Lo while he sings his songs, maybe he'd make it onto MTV and into Walmart. These are wonderful songs and worthy of a listen. Spare and considered, nothing wasted or extraneous...if you are a fan of David Wilcox or any songwriter with something more important to say than "I want to bop with you, Baby" or "hit me baby, one more time" then you need to check out LJ Booth. Great guitar work and great vocals. I've only heard the first two cds (Yarns and Big Hourglass) but I bet that any of them are a safe bet.
