Your Departure Left Me The Shelterless Victim of a Major Disaster (EP)
Editorial Reviews The album consists of garage-band guitars, vintage analogue sounds, genuine, tender vocals and harmonies, and has been described as "melodic modern girl/boy pop and rock nursery rhymes". Beginning with "Julie", the first chapter of several heartfelt stories, and ending with a post-modern old school rendition of "Manic Monday", Faisal has not only chosen to wear his heart on his sleeve, but has firmly, and permanently, sewed it into place, emoting a sincere and cerebral interpretation of his very personal thoughts. Fans have mentioned that, "on a shallow level, you can listen to the catchy pop licks, or look deeper into the intelligent songwriting and structures." The band has recieved press on a local, national, and international level, is in preproduction of a full length follow up to said EP, due out later this year, is in the process of planning a supporting tour of the EP, has recently incorporated a stellar new web site into their mix and have completed filming of their first video, taking place in and on Etch-a-Sketch.
About the Artist
Colouring Season revolves around the lugubrious mind, actions, interpretations and travels of singer/songwriter Faisal Sethi, who generally incorporates guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and the occasional violin, cello or garage-sale-musical-items-at-dicount-prices into his compositions. The band was originally forged in the Pacific Northwest, specifically Seattle, Washington. Faisal has collaborated with members of THE PROM (Barsuk Records), EX HUSTLERS (Pantherfact Records), BUILT IN SHELLBROOK and PNICE. The new EP "Your departure left me the shelterless victim of a major disaster" sees a coming of age for Faisal, a maturity achieved in compositonal development, songwriting and pop sensibilty.
