Editorial Reviews Erin's songs can be heard in three independent films: Spent, a film by Gil Cates, Jr., with Rain Phoenix and Margaret Cho; Bad Bride, which premiered on Oxygen (you know, Oprah's channel) and features Erin's song "Waking Up" over the closing credits; and American Desi, which ranked repeatedly in Variety's Top 25 films, has been on network television in England, and features Erin's "Lolita (Lo and Behold)" as its love theme. Erin recently started her own record label, Gridley Records, which has released, well, of course, Erin's first album, Frost as Desired (Rob Worby, BBC, says: "The album is beautiful, telling tales everyone wants to hear. Lovely... crank it right up!"), and also Pretty Flowers, by the Buddy Scott Trio, who has three songs in the MGM film "A Guy Thing" and appears in the movie playing for both the bachelor party and the wedding. Erin co-wrote and co-produced Gridley's upcoming third release, Frederic Buchet¹s Pyjama Party. Erin has sung and played with Joan Osbourne, with Martha Wainwright, with Cyndi Lauper, and with Garth Hudson of The Band; she's the co-writer of "I'd Change My Mind" with Robb Royer of Bread; and she's worked with Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, and with Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (producer/writers for Christina Aguilera and N'Sync). Erin has also sung solo on HBO's The Chris Rock Show, and on the brand new Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central. On the silver screen, Erin can be seen (and heard!) singing as Sandra Mescal in the most recent Tim Robbins' film Cradle Will Rock. Erin also appears on the Cradle Will Rock soundtrack along with Polly Jean Harvey and Eddie Vedder. For her day job, Erin has been known to play the harp (although these are usually "night" jobs, if you want to be technical about it). She's played at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, for The Fantasticks on Sullivan St., with the Absolute Ensemble, at the Hayden Planetarium, at BB King Blues Club, and solo gigs everywhere from Club 21, the Rainbow Room, and Le Cirque to regularly for teatime at the St. Regis Hotel. Back home in Kentucky, she played with the Louisville Orchestra, the Louisville Bach Society, for the mayor, for the governor, and regularly at the famous Seelbach Hotel (where Daisy had her wedding reception in The Great Gatsby). Beatle-wise, she's completely thrilled to have played the Bowery Ballroom with The Fab Faux for Sgt. Pepper's, and will be playing The White Album with them in Liverpool this August. She has played the harp for Randy Newman and for Rick Chertoff. Erin is also the harpist (or hip-hop-harpist) on the upcoming single "When He Sang To Me" by RCA recording artist Lorenza. Erin also plays some other instruments -- she grew up playing upright bass then moved on to electric, she's played drums for Martha & the Vandellas, she plays guitar at all her gigs, she's a classically trained pianist (but then, who isn't?), she plays saxophone and flute (and harp) on both the Cabaret and the Honkytonk Highway soundtracks, she plays a little accordian (they're not as heavy as the big ones), and she plays the hammered dulcimer, the theremin, and even the hurdy-gurdy, which she's had the honor of playing live with Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian. Oh, yes -- she also juggles and is an expert at walking on her hands.
