Ghost Taxi

About the Artist
A native of the Faroe Islands (located midway between Scotland and Iceland), Eesk, a.k.a. Elskar Øndriksdóttir, is known for both her film scores (including source music for Dogma 95 release "Housing Unit B-26") and her atmospheric, richly textured electronica.

Since parting ways with Henrik Hanssen, her partner in the popular Danish duo Øje in the 1980s, Eesk has contributed to projects by such diverse artists as Egyptian vocalist Habib Hassoum, Scottish drum-and-bass producer Toko, San Francisco, CA lounge band Action Plus, and Monterrey, Mexico-based electronica group Escupir. She has also collaborated with German film composer Werther Gund on scores for "The End of Tomorrows," "Shaken," and "The Eighth Assassin." Ghost Taxi, originally released on Clubbo Records, was Eesk’s first solo album.

Eesk currently divides her time between Tórshavn, London, and San Francisco.

Album Description
Inspired by Hong Kong and Hindi film scores, Victorian ghost stories, and the remote, windswept Faroe Islands, Ghost Taxi is a dizzying ride through invisible cities and vast empty plains. This collection of songs and soundscapes by vocalist/producer Eesk evokes a dark and exotic world - someplace sexy, spooky, and surreal.

This is the re-released 2003 edition of Ghost Taxi--not to be confused with the original 2001 release on Clubbo Records.
