5 out of 5 stars Deepnet is perfect.......2006-03-26

This is probably the best offering from New Mind since the band's "Zero to the Bone" album. The whole production seems to play like the soundtrack to an unmade cyberpunk film. Merging elements from Electro, Darkstep, Noise, and Sound Track music, the over-all experience of Deepnet is inspiring. The music is catchy, harsh, dancible, and yet very VERY innovative. While other electro bands of this era were busy becoming second-rate Covenant clones, New Mind was forging new ground. Too bad New Mind's efforts were lost in a sea of whiney future-pop clones, because Deepnet should've become an instant classic.

Buy this album if you like: FLA's "Tactical Neural Implant", Haujobb's "Freeze Frame Reality", Forma Tadre's "Navigator."

1 out of 5 stars Mise-en-scene.......2007-06-28

I could tend to agree that this compilation adheres to the proposition set forth by Luigi Russolo in 1913: "Break out of this limited circle of sounds and conquer the infinite variety of noise-sounds". Yes the artists comprising this collection of compositions adhere to the promice of the liner notes: "Journey...into further deviations of uncharted sonic frontiers".... Robert Rich and Psychophysicist prove their reign over this type of deep ambient sound-music. Coma Virus brings forth an open heavy semiorganic palpable field of sound. And TAGC "white sand" is an impressive slow minimal impermanent wave chimera. But his "invader" on disc #2 sounds like a background soundtack for an elementary Scifi show. Atom Heart presents a drone good for secondary filler music on a full CD (not compilation worthy). CTI should stick to underground dance music. Their "la genou" is a stagnant echo melody. Lustmord proves he can follow but cannot lead. Disc #1 is a tolerable collection, but #2 is unbalanced. This collection as a whole lacks unity and comes across cruely impotent.
