Before you trade, read..........2005-12-09
Great double album. Of course, the original albums have been rereleased with lots of extra stuff, making All the Stuff Vol. 1 obsolete, but All the Stuff Vol. II has a track, "I Don't Wanna Live This Life Anymore" which was not included on the individual album rereleases. Not sure why, unless it was considered in bad taste after all the deaths in the Ramones family. Oh well.
Great Stuff!.......2005-05-19
Before I begin, I must say that you have to pick this CD up along with All The Stuff, Vol. 1. They are better together. Vol. 2 features classics such as "I Wanna Be Well", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Cretin Hop", "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker", "Rockaway Beach", "I Don't Care", and "Ramona". It also features three previously unreleased tracks. The unreleased tracks alone are a reason to go out and pick this CD up. If you are just getting into Punk, I would suggest picking up Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 along with The Clash's greatest hits (entitled The Singles), The Misfits' compilation albums (Collection and Collection II), and Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables by The Dead Kennedys.
Happy and Bouncey.......2005-05-15
This Album is a Not-Get-Sick-Of-Album!!! it's just a great cd to run while your outside flippin burgers or just sitting in the hot summer sun. i think this is a great album for the Ramones. My pesonal favs are 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker' and 'Rock away Beach' You feel like you wasted money buying this one. its 30 tracks and i got it for like 12 bucks(and thats not cuz it sux)
A Thrashing Experience.......2003-09-10
As liner note writer Kurt Loder states, the Ramones issued a "wake up call" to 1976 consumers listening to hits "by people like Barry Manilow and Walter Murphy and England Dan and John Ford Coley." This is an excellent collection, mostly from the third and forth albums, "Rocket to Russia" and "Road to Ruin" (along with a few obligatory bonus tracks), that demonstrates how the Ramones eventually work rescued radio rock with an simple but powerful mixture of heavy drums and bass, constant thrashing guitars, and one of the best punk vocalists, Joey Ramone.
Some of that new sound, in songs like "Ramona, "Rockaway Beach" and, especially, "Sheena is a Punk Rocker," are clearly linked to the surf bands (most notably, the Beach Boys), but energized and propelled by the least subtle drumming you'll ever hear, and the joy of Joey's "inimitable Anglo-Queens lead bleat" (again, quoting Kurt Loder).
There are a few "ballads' (e.g., "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow") that don't really work, especially in contrast to the faster songs. On the other hand, it's nice to have some breaks from the glorious pounding. Side 2's "I Want You Around" is much more successful, the textures and shading reminiscent of Elvis Costello. Mostly, though, the songs are fast, short, and energized; if you don't like one cut, the next one might get to you.
The Ramones seem to have a special affinity for covering older songs, highlighted here by a fast "Do You Wanna Dance," "Needles and Pins," and their near perfect adaptation of the great "Surfin' Bird." Other highlights include "Slug," which features woofer-destroying bass and drums and a John Lennon-esque chorus, and "Road to Ruin" songs "I Want You Around," and "I Just Want to Have Something to Do" where the band displays a bit more texture and invention, alongside great hooks and raw energy. Unfortunately, there are also the inexplicably polished "Questioningly" and the country excursions of "Don't Come Close." But the "Road to Ruin" songs include the thrashing "I'm Against It" ("when I'm against it, I'm against it"), and one of the best (and most popular) of the Ramones' work "I Wanna Be Sedated." Completing the psychiatric trilogy are "Mental Health" (pronounced beautifully as "Men-till") with its blistering guitars, and the excellent 60's sound (buffeted by punk's flatted chords) of "Bad Brain." Although a few cuts begin to blend together (especially after 71 minutes of it here), you'll want to return to this New York roller coaster even after you have muscle memory of its thrill. The Ramones are well worth listening to again and again.
GREAT RAMONES ALBUM.......2001-12-24
Most people think that the ramones can only play one type of music..... BOY WERE THEY EVER WRONG!!
This album covers everything from the hard power chords of "I DON'T WANNA LIVE THIS LIFE (ANYMORE)" to the soft ballads of sunny Bono's classic "NEEDLES AND PINS", and let's not forget the all-time hit "I WANNA BE SEDATED".
If you've just grown an interest in the ramones now that Joey is dead, and you wanna start your collection, you must buy this album!

Album Description
Hi-Fi for small fry! The best of Greasy Kid Stuff, the WFMU hit Saturday morning radio show. Broadcast weekly throughout the New York City area, this playfully ironic take on kids' music is now available for the first time ever on one CD. Many of its songs are previously unreleased.
From 1995 to the present, Greasy Kid Stuff has served as a cultural touchstone for hip parents and their equally discerning children. Through weekly Internet broadcasts and archived shows, the program's popularity has spread not only throughout the New York metropolitan area, but nationally and internationally as well.
These tracks, culled from the upper ranks of the annual "Best of Greasy Kid Stuff" countdowns, mark the first commercial release of a Greasy Kid Stuff compilation. Parents and children alike can and will groove, jive and bop to the infectious and funky music on this album!

Punk Rock Kids and Parents.......2003-09-17
Awesome, un-sappy kids' album. Perfect gift for parents who are cool and kids who are imaginative. The Sound of Worms is a 4-8 year old crowd pleaser!
Get greasy but stay clean.......2002-06-14
From the opening Greasy Kid Stuff theme song to the closing Yo La Tengo version of My Little Corner of the World, Songs From Inside The Radio opens up a whole world of really good, fun music to enjoy with your kids. It is rockingly reminiscent of the great kids' music era ushered in by Peter Seger and Woody Guthrie. Hockey Monkey motivated my 8 yr. old son to pick up a guitar to learn to play and sing along. Ants in My Pants is hysterically funny to my 5 yr old. Chicken Impossible really gets the whole family listening. Them Bones is, of course, classic in the kids' music genre. That's Where the Plaque Is, has always been a tooth-brushing family favorite. This CD is a wonderful, fun way to bring really great music into your child's world and keep the doors open for communication, You Can Make a Difference if You Try, Try, Try.
Should Be a Double CD!!!!.......2002-06-01
I haven't heard the CD yet, but I know the songs well from years of listening to Hova and Belinda's show. This is a fun CD that isn't just for kids. It's also for those who are kids at heart.
Tony Burillo's "There's A New Sound(The Sound of Worms") is a strange, catchy and slightly haunting tune. The Happiest Guys in the World's, "You Can Make a Difference If You Try, Try Try" is an upbeat anthem, and a pretty good blueprint for life. James Kochalka's "Monkey vs. Robot" is hilarious and Michael Shelly's ode to toothbrushing,"Thats Where the Plaque Is" will make every kid want to brush and floss each day. And to top it all off, Barbara Manning and the SF Seals "Kids Pirate Ship" is just plain fun.
My only quarrel with this is CD that it isn't twice as long. I can think of another 50 songs that deserve to be included. I hope there is a "Songs From Inside the Radio II" in the future.
GREASY & GREAT.......2002-05-27
My kids love this radio program, and this CD too! We would never buy (or even know where to look for) whole albums by these artists, so it is great to see them together in one place, great for long car trips!

One of the greatest crooners of all time........2003-06-15
This album was Lou's third release for Philadelphia International and carries on from where "Unmistakably Lou" left off. Lou's superb and unapologetically jazzy. super-club rendition of "Unforgettable" is incredibly beasutiful while the wistful ballads "I Wish It Were Yesterday", "If I Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" and the timeless "Lady Love" are classy Philly ballads not to be missed. Only the bluesy, big-band style track "Dollar Green" sounds out of place with the CD's other nine tracks.
I love this CD!.......2000-06-26
This is vintage Lou! I've worn out 2 tapes and now I'm on the CD! It's filled with great songs and I love to sing along. You will too!

Blink 182 Ha Ha Ha.......2005-04-21
I'd rather listen to Britney Spears than that garbage. Blink 182 is the milleniums answer to the Monkeys. In fact I think the monkeys would blow 182 off the stage. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Thanks kid, I needed that! Priceless.
Punk does not exist anymore. Its a snapshot in time!
The Ramones are Punk.......2005-04-09
To the kid who likes B182 and buys his CDs at walmart. Your review speaks for itself. You ain't a punk if you like all those light weight bands and if you buy your CDs at walmart. The Ramones along with the Pistols invented punk nearly 30 years ago. When they first came out they were revolting against the radio, not trying to fit nicely between Britney Spears and Sting like B182 and the rest of those phaux-punks
All the fun and more.......2005-04-05
The first two Ramones albums plus b sides on one CD is as fine as it gets for the happy comic book lyrics and head bobbing sounds of the late 70's. This is definelty a "play loud" selection. What makes them so great, and they were a great band, is that with a few nifty chords and a simple hard driving drum and bass line they were able to make any blue day brighter. Cheerful punk? "Hey little girl, I wanna be your boyfriend." Yes. As American as it gets with songs about sniffing glue, being an unruly kid, chasing girls, riding in cars, sniffing more glue and then dancing through the night. The Ramones had no pretentions to being anything other than a great rock and roll band and "All The Stuff Vol. 1" is the first chapter in music the way that the music of rock and roll began. Punk aside, what band after them doesn't owe them a nod of thanks for how to work the hell out of a chord and to make the 2 minute song an art form of both rage and giggles? This CD, Ramonesmania and It's Alive are very much essential discs for the car, for parties, and for working around the house with a dance in your step.
Some rockers need angry punk and Jamaican Clash rip-offs to justify the beat, but when listenting to the Ramones none of that is needed, all you need is a love of the Mosrite bass and guitar and a sense of humor. Fast and loud. That's the Ramones.
Compilation of first 2 albums and then some..........2005-02-18
This CD is contains the complete first two albums by the
Ramones: "Ramones" and "Ramones Leave Home". It also includes
a few B-sides of singles, not released on the original LP's.
These are "I don't want to be learned, I don't want to be tamed",
"I Can't Be", "Babysitter", and the live version of "California
Sun". Unfortunately, it does not contain the originally banned
track "Carbona Not Glue", which was replaced by "Sheena is a
Punk Rocker".
This CD is especially helpful for all those old Ramones fans
out there trying to replace their vinyl LP's onto CD. This
will save you having to buy both "Ramones" and "Ramones Leave
Home", and give you a few bonus tracks as well.
WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?.......2005-01-07
So every time I hear about the Ramones it's always about how much they have influenced my favorite bands. Green Day, Rancid, Jimmy Eat World, Good Charlotte, ya know PUNK! But every time I looked at their CD at Walmart I was like god who are these hippies. With their stupid long hair and dirty clothes. Eventually I was like what the hell I'll check it out. I was pretty surprised cause it is pretty PUNK sounding but really not that great. All I gotta say is if they were still around and played a concert with Blink 182 - Blink 182 would blow them off the stage!

There's a lot of schlock on Broadway these days, so it's especially frustrating when a small, off-Broadway show doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Carried by the indomitable George Dvorsky and Sally Mayes in the title roles, Pete 'n' Keely should have been a lot more successful than it was, so we're lucky to have this recording to immortalize the little show that should have been. Inspired by the likes of Steve (Lawrence) and Eydie (Gorme), Pete and Keely are two high-voltage entertainers; the show purports to document their hectic 1968 TV special. Dvorsky and Mayes are fantastic as they frenetically go from clever originals by Patrick S. Brady and Mark Waldrop to over-the-top Rat Packy takes on classic tunes such as "Fever" and "Besame Mucho." As for the finger-snapping rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic," you've got to hear it to believe it. Our only qualm: the recording doesn't do justice to Bob Mackie's delirious costumes. Oh well, can't have it all. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
Customer Reviews:
It's Perfect.......2001-12-31
I lent my copy of Pete 'n' Keely to a friend. When she returned my CD, she said that it was perfect. I agree. Many of the songs are an enjoyable trip down memory lane that brings back many fond memories. The new songs by Patrick Brady and Mark Waldropfit right in. Sally Mayes does the best rendition of "Black Coffee" that I have ever heard.Goerge Dvorsky's Fever" is also fantastic. It is not unusual for me to be sitting at my desk at work and have one of the songs run through my memory. That isd without any music in the background. My friends who have heard me play the CD have purchased a copy for themselves, they liked the CD so much.
Upbeat Musical Magic.......2001-12-11
This album is a MUST for any fan of Broadway - full of upbeat musical magic performed flawlessly by George Dvorsky and Sally Mayes.
The cd captures wonderfully the manic energy of Pete and Keely - a television couple that reigned supreme in the 1960s. Throughout the album we hear them at their best as they recall their joint musical career and their award winning signature tunes.
Dvorsky is a smooth as silk baritone with shades of Robert Goulet. His rendition of "Fever" on this album is alone worth the cost of the cd. Although done with a slight comic edge, the song comes alive with a wonderful nuance that Dvorsky delivers effortlessly. You'll find yourself replaying that track again and again.
The same could be said for Maye's sparkling "Black Coffee". Her voice is pure velvet, with a touch of "seen it all and done it all" flowing throughout this sensational track.
This original cast recording has been produced perfectly. The sound quality is superb, and the inner liner has some great photos of Pete n Keely in their glamorous Bob Mackie costumes that were such a huge part of the New York City premier.
If you like Broadway - then this cd is a must have...
If you like to smile when you listen to a cd - then this recording is a must have...
And....if you like your music upbeat and infectious - then this original cast recording is a MUST HAVE for your collection...

Yes, He Said It All With Variety........2007-01-13
This is a very pleasant type of music for the Romantic at heart. Mr. Rawl's full voice, the synth strings, Piano, trumpets, & backup singers gel well. From the hit "You'll Never Find," jazzy "Your The One," bluesy "Need You Forever," & brusk "From Now On." All different tunes to be sure, but a soothing listen. It ends with a song for yearning souls, "Lets Fall In Love Again." The latter has an excellent Saxophone, certainly one of the most underutilized instruments.
Ty Bess(the music man).......2006-11-04
Lou Rawls need i say more. This album came out in the summer of 1976.This was and still is one of those rare albums you can play and enjoy the whole thing. For those of you who can get pass groovy people and you,ll never find. Will fine that need you forever, time, and from now on are truly the best cuts enjoy!
The Top of his Game!.......2005-11-11
This CD has some of the best Lou Rawls Songs on it. How could you not like the unforgettable: You'll never find. This selection is one of Lou's finest. Then He makes you feel good with the selections Groovy People, From Now on & This song will last forever. The Selection Time is very sobering and leaves a message about life itself. Lou's voice really sounds great on this collection. You will enjoy the songs again and again. Jayelprice

BORING.......2004-07-13
I love Lou Rawls but not this CD.He spend too much time talking and not enough singing. All of the chatter was very annoying.
"All Things In Time " was the album that revived Lou Rawls' career........2003-06-12
Lou Rawls signed with Philadelphia International Records at a time when he desperately needed a career revival and thanks to the immortal "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" it happened. Other standout numbers include "Pure Imagination", "Time", "Need You Forever" and "From Now On". The combination of Gamble & Huff, their staff producers/songwriters and Lou Rawls was a winning one from the start--and one responsible for some great music. Indispensable.

Customer Reviews:
Isabelle is the best.......2004-04-27
I'm a french girl leaving in L.A and I didn't know Isabelle Antena before this compilation. Not only her track (the opening one) is the best of the CD , but I discovered her best of album (l'alphabet du plaisir) and she's one of the greatest bossa singer I've ever heard.A real diva.
Good CD........2002-06-11
While I profess to know very little about music, I think I have good taste. I love this cd, every track from start to finish seems to find the right blend between groovy/relaxing. Would highly recommend.
Awesome.......2002-03-25
Another one of those trip-hop/jazz compilations that just won't leave the CD player. An eclectic blend of smooth cuts from Thievery Corp, Nightmares On Wax, and others, perfect for coming down from a fast night of drinking too much and sobering out. The song by Cool Blue (track 9, not 10) is just so chill, it sends shivers and Dub Tractor's "104 Dub" has that ambient groove to it...way cool.
Excellent!.......2002-03-12
This CD has been in almost constant rotation in the CD player at our house since purchase. It flows really well, each song is very different, but very interesting, and they all seem to complement each other. Can't wait to try the other ESL offerings.
Sizzles, fizzles, then sizzles........2002-02-06
I was interested in this track as I knew of Batu and some of the other artists featured. But to be honest, the only tracks I listen to on this album are the first two. The Isabelle Antena track is incredibly smooth while the Batu track seems to teleport you back in time to Brazil in the 70's early 80's. But from then on up for a while the album goes into a 70's sort of lounge feel, which isn't really bad considering that's the way the album's supposed to go. Just not my cup of tea.
So if you're looking for something like the first two tracks, where are heavy Bossa Nova/tropical feel, you get it in the first two tracks only. Otherwise I'd recommend Jet Society instead - and if you have that, Boss-a-Troniq (1+2), Brazilectro (1+2) or Hedkandi's Serve Chilled Volume 3. The rest of this album is solid with some ups - notably Shantel and Thievery Corporation's own track in it.
