After glancing over the reviews, I see that we are not the only ones who feel that this CD will never get old. I, too, have been playing it for years. Wendy, Kathryn, etc are such annointed singers and musicians, it is hard to deny Christ's spirit leading them. I will never get sick of this CD. It is truly a classic :)

A few reasons why this CD has become a classic are that it represents simplicity, raw & intimate worship with a deep theological perspective.

For example, the title cut 'Hungry' is not a just worship song that is about God. It is directed to God. So as you start to sing, you find yourself calling out to God himself. It's not just calling out something nice about God. In simplicity terms we use every day are blended with the bible to help anyone connect with Jesus. The bible says taste and see that the Lord is good. This song takes that concept and turns it back into a worship song. So if you are at home or in a small group or a church service or listening to a faster version of it on the radio, the lyrics take solid biblical truth and help you pray it to God. That's part of the reason why so many people love this CD. On top of that, the musical technical quality is excellent.

I would recommend it without hesitation. It also makes a great gift for anyone who is seeking God.

I got this CD when it came out in 1999. I still listen to it. It is raw God centered worship. Listening to it will make you Hungry for Him and falling on your knees in worship. Buy this CD and hear the songs sung by the original writers. You may have heard the songs on Michael W Smith's cd's Phillips, Craig, & Dean and others but this one will blow you away!

I never tire of listening to Hungry. "Child of God" is absolutely stunning and never fails to leave me in tears knowing of God's love for me. The whole CD is awesome and will bring you closer to the Lord.

I bought this CD almost two years ago and God still uses it to still my heart and realize His presence with me. It is by far my favorite worship CD I have ever bought. Do you desire intimacy with Jesus? This CD might help you find it. I know it has helped me.

This is a CD that Vineyard Music released in 2006. It is a great CD. The reason that I bought it is because Rita Springer sings "If You Say Go". I am a big Rita fan. I think this song is one of her best songs recorded. Their are others from this album that I really like as well. I don't think you will be disapointed by this CD.

It's good. I like it, but it's not my favorite and hasn't kept my interest for long. Although, I do get bored easily with most Christian music.

I love this album. It is one I come back to over and over and find myself singing these songs that well up in my spirit. I can soak in the Father's love for me as I listen and sing along and take in the beautiful harmonies and simple arrangements. The guitar and piano have never sounded so rich. Tracks 1, 4, 6, 10, and 13 are enduring favorites. I love this album. It is mostly scripture or contemporary praise-- and it invites me into His presence in a way that many other albums just don't. Listen to some of the tracks online and see for yourself.

Tracks: (1) Holy and Anointed One-- joyful and worshipful. A song that speaks of Him as the living water. "Your name is like honey to my lips/ Your spirit like water to my soul..."

(2) Isn't He,
Another favorite of some of the people on our worship team.

(3) You Are Here,
Words spoken to a very present God.

(4) Resting Place,
A gorgeous favorite from the last chapter of Isaiah, finishing with "Here O Lord, have I prepared a resting place. Here O Lord, I wait for you alone."

(5) Remember Mercy,
A beautiful song from Habakkuk.

(6) At the Cross,
A song which explains the gospel clearly and poetically at the same time. There is no better place.

(7) Take My Life & Let It Be,
A heartfelt hymn.

(8) Faithful One--
His faithfulness is such a comfort.

(9) Father I Want You to Hold Me
A wonderful song of intimacy and transparency.

(10) Arms of Love
Another favorite. "Holding me still/ holding me near/ in Your arms of love."

(12) Light the Fire Again,
"Don't let my love grow cold... light the fire again."

(13) More Love More Power,
A powerful passionate song of drawing near.

(14) One Thing I Ask
From Psalms, a song of focus and priority.

If you've ever heard or seen the passionate worship that occurs at Brownsville Assembly of God, you'll understand why I love this one. Along with Vineyard leader and songwriter Andy Park, Lindell Cooley exhorts people to glorify God with fervor.

Of note is Cooley's arrangements of Vineyard songs like 'I See The Lord, Holy Love, Lover Of My Soul and the traditional 'He Set Me Free'. There's nothing 'fluff' about the sound, it's heavy and driven, with a rhythm section higher in the mix than one usually finds in 'worship' cds. The Integrity releases 'Revival At Brownsville'and 'Open Up The Sky' are readily found, but I also recommend other Brownsville releases like 'Live At Pensacola' and 'Send The Fire'.

There are some unique and interesting songs of this album. Unfortunately the performance does not shine. I found the singing and accompaniment a bit slow and monotonous and uninspired. Furthermore, it was difficult to understand the words at times (indistinct enunciation). There are a few exceptions: tracks 3, 4, 9, 20, 21 I gave 3 stars in iTunes; all the rest got two stars or less. If you want beautiful, traditional choral music, I recommend any of the albums featuring the Cambridge Singers over this collection.

I have still yet to find an album that has all my favorite modern worship songs on it. However, DRAW ME CLOSE comes close (if it had "Better is One Day" and "Did You Hear The Mountains Tremble" it would be the one). Vineyard started the revival of praise music in the church and helped launch revivals going on in certain parts of the world. This two disc album has songs going back over twenty years ago when Vineyard Music was just finding it's footing as well as some of the most recent powerful and moving praise songs that are quickly becoming staples in some churches. Some of my favorite songs are:

DISC ONE: "Hungry"

"Draw Me Close"

"Breathe"

"Good to Me"

"Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)"

"Every Move I Make"

DISC TWO: "We Will Dance"

"In the Secret (I Want to Know You)"

There are tons of praise and worship albums available nowadays. However, if you're going to buy one, this is one that I highly recommend.

This CD is truly a bargain. There are so many great songs that it is hard to imagine that they include them all on one album. It even has bonus chords and other stuff when you play it on a computer. Most of the songs I had heard before but there were a couple that I hadn't heard and now I like them.

You get a lot of good worship songs for your money. Disc one is the better disc with "Hungry", "Your name is holy", "Light the Fire" and "Thank you for the Cross". This is encouraging music for the Christian soul. It will uplift you during your day. I've enjoyed the music and I'm very pleased with the 27 songs you get for single CD pricing.

    This is the kind of set you can listen to over and over without getting bored. It's a fantastic package of songs and I highly recommend it as a gift or for yourself.

    Some of the songs can leave you weeping or stirred in the depths of your spirit towards God.

    Both CDs in this set have a number of great songs some of which are well known. Others I had not heard until I bought this set but they are now among some of my favorites. There is a lot of good music here that can help you in personal worship times for a reasonable price.

    I go to the Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor. The largest factor in my choosing to attend this church is the wonderful worship that occurs there. It is a time of entering God's presence, humbly and reverently, sometimes with joy and celebration, sometimes with serenity, sometimes pouring your heart out to God in sorrow. It is such a great experience that one hour a week is just not enough.

    A CD like this makes it possible to experience worship at any time; it's like being in church. Not only the songs chosen, many of which we regularly sing at church, but also the fact that the album was recorded live, help me to enter into the presence of God.

    At first I only liked four songs on the album: "I Lift My Eyes Up," "Pour Out My Heart," "Hallelujah (Your Love Is Amazing)," and "Father Of Lights." I still play these four songs far more than any other songs on the album, especially the first two I mentioned, and from these four songs alone I could give this album a strong rating.

    Here are some sample lyrics. From "I Lift My Eyes Up":
    Oh, how I need you, Lord / You are my only hope / You're my only prayer
    So I will wait for you / To come and rescue me / Come and give me life

    And from "Pour Out My Heart":
    I pour out my heart for I know that you hear every cry
    You are listening no matter what state my heart is in
    You are faithful to answer with words that are true
    And a hope that is real
    As I feel your touch, you bring a freedom to all that's within
    In the safety of this place, I'm longing to
    Pour out my heart, to say that I love you
    Pour out my heart, to say that I need you

    To me, even these two songs alone make the whole album worth having.

    Eventually I did venture beyond my favorite four songs to the rest of the album. It took me awhile to do that because I don't like too much slow music and the latter part of the album has so many slow songs in a row that it kind of drags, but the more I listened to it, the less the slowness bothered me; I began to get into the worship experience of it.

    I got this album in late 2002 and began listening to it quite a bit then, listened to it very frequently throughout 2003, and in 2004 I still listen to it rather regularly, so this is an album that has staying power.

    5 out of 5 stars Excellent Contemporary Christian Worship Music.......2001-07-03

    I really love this CD. I have played it almost non-stop for the last several months. It is almost like being at an actual worship. The lyrics are simple with repetition allowing you to memorize the words quickly.

    Performed with what I could only call a deep love of the Lord, I could not help but feel that the Holy Spirit is in the lyrics, music, and the performers. My favorite song "Who is This" is sung with almost an ethereal quality expressing a relationship and understanding of the Lord. Though I must admit, all of the songs are good including the classic "Jesus I Surrender All".

    The only thing that jarred me a bit is at the beginning of the next song that starts with a "minister" saying a few words a little louder than I expected. The words are valid but just a bit disconcerting after being taken to another plain of consciousness. I've learned to turn down the volume before he speaks and turn it up after he is done.

    I have given away four of these CDs and one tape. All have expressed that they enjoy it. Note that I have also found that this CD can help be an instrument of "breaking and release".

    I found this old tape in my basement and popped it in my car tape player and was so blessed because the bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people, and my soul rejoiced in Worshiping my Lord and Savior, nothing is sweeter than worship to our Creator and God.
