Intravenous

Editorial Reviews
ADD, 2002
This is a hard-hitting new futurepop / hard synthpop band that should catch a lot of attention soon.

About the Artist
Hailing from northern Sweden, Johan and Martin met while in college, in the fall of 2000. Having both played in various other bands they knew they had hit on something out of the ordinary with Z Prochek. Fusing elements of EBM, techno, trance and industrial, Z Prochek transcends all boundaries. Their music is aggressive, emotional, danceable and truthful.

Album Description
Z Prochek embody the spirit of modern EBM: hard hitting beats, powerful chorus and insightful lyrics all melding into an experience that will leave you forever changed.

4 out of 5 stars Good first album, lots of potential.......2003-03-13

I first learned of Z Prochek at the Synthpop Goes the World festival in Toronto last summer (2002). My friend got a free band shirt there and thus made me look them up. I heard about six songs from them before this album came out, and five of them are on the album, changed around a little bit. This album is a nice mixture of hard edged industrial, danceable ebm, and synthpop with other styles mixed in for good measure. Where they truly shine is the more club friendly tracks where the lyrics can be easily heard such as One Last Time, Point Blank and especially Words, where such potential for great music is so vividly present, but the other tracks make the album varied and are all strong tracks. There is not a whole lot of innovation in working with ebm/industrial, but they definitely know how to make good music. Highly recommended for anyone into ebm/industrial/futurepop. Something for everyone that can take multiple listens to get the full effect.

Combining the sun-loving sounds of surfing with an unhealthy addiction to the detritus of American pop culture--sleazy horror movies, junk food, and muscle cars--Alabama's Man or Astroman? come up winners with this collection. If you close your mind's eye to their onstage NASA costumes, Ed Wood sound bites, and comical names (Birdstuff, Star Crunch, Captain Zeno, and CoCo the Electronic Monkey Wizard), there lurks a first-rate '90s surf band. Not as hooked on the reverb pedal as their '60s idols, Man or Astroman? freely insert broad-stroked power riffs that owe more to the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones and '90s bad boys the Melvins than to Dick Dale. Then they ride 'em out like a 30-footer full of floaters. --Jud Cost

I love this music and the space add-ins. This was a favorite of mine in the 70's-80's. I was able to see an Alpha-clone show in Atlanta. Can't wait to see the originals. If they are in Pensacola they can stay at Mama Causey's.Alpha and Gamma clones are also invited.
