Fiber Optic Fables

Editorial Reviews
The Ithaca Times
"Dan backs himself completely on guitar, keyboards and percussion. A great musician writing complex songs, Dan keeps on singing gloriously throughout."

About the Artist
Dan originally hails from upstate NY but began his performing in Savannah, GA. He cut his stage teeth and built a strong fan base in Ithaca, NY with many shows between 1995 and 1999 including a benefit show for the rape survivors of the Serbian wars. He has since returned to Georgia to tame the Atlanta scene with his strong pop hooks and romantic charisma.

He says, "Someone once compared me to Dave Matthews. I just laughed at them. I've a long way to go before I have his skills. But I suppose... read more

Album Description
First effort from Atlanta-based artist dan uses his cybercoustic rhythm-driven pop to delve deep into issues facing the Gen-X populus. Unabashedly romantic and hopeful, dan's work focuses on subjects such as splitered relationships, consummation of technology and...well...love. Never sappy but always exploring, Fiber Optic Fables is for those who want an intelligent, ear-friendly distraction from the speed of life.

Forget that Fiber Optic Fables is a debut CD. Forget that one man is responsible for the music, lyrics, vocals and most of the instrumental work.

Fiber Optic Fables is a startlingly creative piece of musicart, which takes the listener on an evocative journey through individual moments of reflection and emotion. The tracks Ferry and Surface are both haunting and moving, yet fully succeed in avoiding cliched sentimentality. The lyrics are intelligent, articulate and often downright witty, yet entirely unobtrusive. Throughout, Dan's vocals show impressive range and the rhythm guitar, while skillful, is refreshingly simple.

Overall, Fiber Optic Fables is an intensely melodic experience, best appreciated in one sitting... and it's highly likely that after that final track, you'll want to go right back to the beginning and play it through again.
