This is one of the few compilations I have heard that gives the feel of an actual album. For any fan of AMR, buy it! The songs do indeed rock, some of the best coming from Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms, Nicotine, and Matt Skiba. The selections from each band are more interesting than they have been on past AMR samplers. There are also new bands here- 40 winks, Colossal, EE, and Little Jeans. Colossal offer interesting pop with a trumpet, and their lyrics are intriguing. 40 winks offer some slightly skewed and polished punk. Also here are insane Japanese punkers Coquettish. Their one-minute scream-fest "Such a foolish man" is well worth a listen, if only to freak out anyone in earshot. This is a fine compilation from a fine record label, at a fine price. Peace- Andy
