About the Artist
Album Description If you like U2, Matchbox20, Third Eye Blind, Eve6, The Gin Blossoms, or Better Than Ezra you’ll dig Driven. DRIVEN’S sound is a synthesis of alternative rock, classical pop/rock and Euro-pop with electronic loops, synths, organic orchestrations, and monumental guitar rifts accented by the lead’s singers powerful and unparalleled voice. DRIVEN’S music is a hybrid of many genres; a reflection of the band’s international background and diverse musical interests. Each song on Driven’s CD was produced to be a "single", with irrepressible melodies, grooves, hooks and great musicianship as well as powerful vocals and lyrics. These lyrics, along with the diverse instrumentation in which they are embedded, result in a powerful musical statement. DRIVEN’S audience appreciates great music and great vocals. Driven’s fans range in age from pre-teens to the hip adult contemporaries. DRIVEN’s success may be attributed to the unique contributions made by its members being! from different backgrounds and cultures. Chaz, the singer/songwriter, lives in San Francisco, played football in college, and drives a big rig. Troy, the guitarist, grew up in the land Down Under and brings his own unique talents to Driven. Likewise, Driven’s keyboardist, Sven Martin’s European Euro-Pop/Techno-Rock background brings additional textures to Driven’s music. Add to this a bass player from Slovenia (Domen) and the killer drum tracks of Nate Morton (Los Angeles) the band’s drummer (presently touring with Vanessa Carlton, 3EB GooGooDolls) and drum tracks with Josh Freese and Roman Ratej (some of the world’s most in demand drummers) and you have the unique sound that is DRIVEN.

DRIVEN WAS JUST VOTED ARTIST OF THE MONTH! Here's what review said about Driven: "I just can't bring myself to compare these guys to anyone else, their sound is just too unique. But, since I have to give you an idea on what to expect I would say this: Driven is the out-of-control love child of U2 and Aerosmith who was adopted by INXS. And there you have it. They have been compared to Match Box 20 and Goo Goo Dolls and while I agree with the comparison it is really tough to put them in one category. Their music is a blend of rock, euro pop, and power pop, with a splash of techno thrown in to spice it up. American Chaz Ross, Australian Troy MacCubbin, and German Sven Martin bring their own styles and influences to make the musical journey that is their debut album 202. Full of great rock guitars, the best drum tracks in the world, and rich vocals, every song is a "stick-in-your-head" statement of life and love. There's the tender father to daughter dedication "Summer Star" which will have any "daddys little girl" crying on impact! The all out rocking "Tragedy," along with monster ballads and tunes that are indescribably memorable. This album is now my favorite, and is bound to be yours too! You never knew a didgeridus could sound so cool! Check out the crazy aboriginal instrument rocking it in the start of "Today." We chose DRIVEN as our August group of the month due to their album outscoring EVERY one that we reviewed this month!"

5 out of 5 stars "Every song sounds like a single" said Brian "Big Bass" Gardner........2007-06-20

Too bad this band broke-up right after finishing their debut CD! Featured appearances on the CD, mixed by Big Bass himself, Nate Morton and Josh Freese, two of the top drummers in the Biz. Chris Fogel did some of the mix. (He did Alanis' first and second albums as well as Seal's stuff).

After breaking up, the guys from the band are now TaTu, playing with those Russian Girls who have sold millions of records.

THE NEGATIVE REVIEW SEEN HERE IS FROM A GUY IN LA WHO DIDN'T TRADEMARK HIS BAND'S NAME, WHICH WAS ALSO "DRIVEN". HE WAS UPSET AND SO HE LEFT THIS NONSENSE REVIEW. LISTEN FOR YOURSELF. GREAT MUSICIANS, MIXERS AND SINGER.

I really do not like ripping bands apart, but this is the cheesiest album I have ever heard. I got a copy of it working at a label, because they tried soliciting the majors to go to their show. It has to be worst wanna-be adult contemporary album ever. All the strumming sounds like coffee-shop amatuers playing Christian rock, except that it isn't. It's attempting to be pop at the lowest common denominator. I saw the show, and it was worse. Avoid at all costs!

5 out of 5 stars This CD is Amazing!.......2002-09-01

A friend of mine bought this CD and we were playing it in her car. I couldn't believe how many great songs were on one CD! One after another. Singer has a great voice and their sound is pretty unique. I listen to KROQ and KISS FM out here in LA and I can hear these songs on both these stations. I can definitely recommend this CD. MOre good songs for the buck than any CD I've heard in a while.
