"She comes across like latter-day Liz Phair meeting Chrissie Hynde, which is a pretty brilliant combination."

"Her talent overflows...a personal album that gets its point across through a nice collection of songs."

Album Description
Priscilla recently recorded her second full-length album "The Diamond Fields" produced by Marwan Kanafani of Fojimoto. Her latest album features her pop/rock side, but also spotlights her top-notch songwriting in artsy, groove-driven musical backdrops. Priscilla's vocal strength and lyrical content make the album shimmer throughout, yet it's still packed with plenty of feeling to make it stick like honey to your ears and shoot sounds of emotional intensity through your soul.

On "The Diamond Fields", Priscilla Ederle's captivating voice soars with melancholic, original, and thought provoking images on songs like "I Wore Black" and "Vera". However, the album also offers traditional radio pop appeal with self-empowering songs like "Invisible" and "The Story of Allison" as well as the spunky-edged "Very Last Day". Darker sounds and more introspective lyrics exploring love lost, distance in relationships, and all around frustration bleed out on tunes like "Days of Spain", "Into Your Grave", and "Everything is Hard". Finally on the album's closing song, the stark but sweet "So Long Ago" offers a subtle, acoustic backdrop to a bittersweet longing for a simple past. Overall, "The Diamond Fields" combines both dreamy hopefulness and gritty cynicism all in the same soulful breath.

5 out of 5 stars priscilla is a great songwriter.......2004-10-17

Check out "I Wore Black" and "So Long Ago" for a couple of very well written songs from Priscilla. I left the CD in a friends car not long after I bought it, and he didn't want to give it back, so I bought another copy. Sometimes it's difficult to know whether a release from an independent artist is worth the money, but I'm sure if you like independent rock that with good songwriting and arrangements, you'll like this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Go get it!.......2002-08-16

From the relaxed intro to the first track, "Invisible" (which subsequently kicks in with full-on force, before coming full circle by the end of the song), to the spiny edginess of "Vera" (underpinned by an intriguing Beatles-like mellotron sound), "The Diamond Fields" is a great record boasting a wealth of different moods and rhythms. At times contemplative and at times revelling in rocking out, it's a catchy, well-written album which combines influences from folk and rock, expertly capturing the best of both worlds in a satisfyingly original way.

5 out of 5 stars Priscilla Ederle is definitely someone to watch.......2002-08-06

I recently had the pleasure of seeing Priscilla Ederle perform an acoustic set of songs from her latest album "The Diamond Fields." I was blown away by her stage presence. Her voice is beyond beautiful. Deep and soulful at times, angelic and wistful at other times. Her singing style perfectly captures the emotional heart of her songs and her lyrics are some of the most compelling I've ever heard. She writes nothing cliched or trite. She is gift to the music scene. Her ability to capture the audience with the total package--beauty, brains, talent, charm and originality--is a rare thing to find. If you are ever in the Bay area and you want an authentic and thoroughly entertaining evening, you must catch one of her shows. You will not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome voice - great lyrics.......2002-08-03

Allthough she sounds a lot like Natalie Merchant, Priscilla is definitely her own person. The lyrics are thoughtfull and intelligent. Invisible is a total earworm. Listen to it once and it will stay with you the whole day.
