About the Artist
Rabbi Micah Becker-Klein has been performing and writing new Jewish music for over ten years. His music is influenced by bluegrass, folk, rock, klezmer, and world music sound. Micah is currently the Spiritual Leader of Congregation Ahavas Achim in Keene, New Hampshire. He is one of the original members of Shabbat Unplugged, a musical troupe formed in 1995 in Philadelphia by six rabbinical students. For over seven years, their original music has shaped and influenced musical Shabbat services throughout the United States. Micah also served as musical director for the Jewish Healing service, Miriam's Well, for several years. Assistant editor for the High Holy Day Prayerbook published by the Reconstructionist Press, Micah's musical and liturgical leadership have inspired hundreds of Jews to enter the world of Jewish prayer and song throughout North America, Europe, Israel, and even Africa. Micah's music and songwriting embraces the Jewish Reconstructionist spirit by bringing new melodies and contemporary meaning to ancient sentiments and Jewish life. He has composed and recorded original liturgical compositions, some of which can be found on "A Night of Questions," a companion recording for the new Reconstructionist Haggadah of the same title. Rabbi Micah is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.

In this album, Micah demonstrates how much he has grown as a musician and songwriter. It is a well paced compilation of songs, with good melodies and strong lyrics. I have followed his musical career for some time now, and this is one of his best efforts yet! Kol HaKavod
