India. The colorful sights and sounds still fresh in his mind – Steve Padilla the lead member of Threshing Floor recalls his first worship experience abroad this past April. "In the northern Indian state of Himachel Pradesh the Christians there are facing great persecution every day," Steve continues. "When we went to visit the Christians there we were able to encourage them and lift their spirits. We did a Bible study together on 2 Corinthians 4 where Paul writes; …’we have this treasure in jars of clay’. We spoke about the grace of God that keeps us even when we hurt and are in pain. After the study, I was able to teach them a new song I’d written called ‘I Will Not Be Afraid’. Steve recalls, "The study and this particular song meant a lot to these people who have experienced so much trouble just because of their personal faith in Jesus. The day after we’d been with them, they traveled back to their village only to be attacked by a group of Hindu extremists. Many of the Christian brothers were beaten and some needed medical help. With great joy they sang in the hospital, saying that they were surer than ever of God’s love and how to respond due to the teaching and fellowship they had received."

"My India trip impacted me by showing me a whole new world where worship, study and prayer are not just things that are done on a Sunday. Instead, they are things that are expressed throughout the day, every day by people who love God with all their heart, mind and soul. I hope that Threshing Floor can be an example of that kind of unconditional worship through the music that God has given us – leading people to a place of unhindered expression of love for Jesus."

At a time when worship music is gaining momentum throughout America and the Christian recording industry, it may seem that Threshing Floor is "jumping on the bandwagon." But at a closer glance, one sees that worship has been a part of Threshing Floor's ten-year history. Committed followers of Jesus, the band strives to use their talents to glorify God and to help bring others into a closer relationship with their Creator.

Album Description
Threshing Floor’s emotional plea to invite others into worship of Jesus Christ can be heard and felt on their latest CD entitled "At Your Feet". From the swelling guitars and resounding rhythms of I Will Not Be Afraid, to the reflective ambiance of the songs Quiet Place and Pictures, listeners are invited into a creative musical landscape that facilitates personal worship. Original, thoughtful lyrics persuade the worshipper to – "listen, trust, follow, seek, know, see, rest, wait, pray". These are the themes of the album. Ballads like Dwell Within Me and Holy One call on the Spirit of God to meet us while sing-able, upbeat tunes like Body Life, Lord Come, and At Your Feet lift our hearts. To help bring about the band’s new sound several guest musicians were brought in on the project including guitarist Michael Rowe of the 77s.

With their current CD release the Threshing Floor hopes to expand its territory into places that God wants to take them. Some of these territories include the regular coffee houses and concerts that the band plays in northern California. But the true desire of their hearts is to continue leading others into worship. The Threshing Floor hopes to lead people into a passionate encounters with Jesus, and at His feet is where worship all begins.

I haven't purchased the CD but the picture of the inside of a church on the cover is not of a British church, like one would assume since it says its a recording of British choirs. This picture is of Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Just thought i'd let you know. I'll be honest; I'm one to judge things by it's cover and if the company took such care to choose a 'British' church for their British choir CD, I'm willing to bet the music is equally well selected... I'm being sarcastic. But I gave the product 5 stars because I didn't want to hurt its ratings just because i'm cynical. But check out the church if you're ever in Montreal, it's truly beautiful... here I'm not being sarcastic.

    Exciting, refreshing, creative and emotionally moving are just a few adjectives to describe the Threshing Floors latest CD: "At Your Feet". From the first track to the last track, their music gets your attention. The shifting changes and strong song writing skills reveals their commitment to the Christian life. The blending of talents is remarkable in this day and age. "I Will Not Be Afraid" by Band leader Steve Padilla, sends a strong message to believers the world over. The song "Holy One" demonstrates the creative talents of lead vocalist Sandi Padilla. The strong bass playing, song writing and vocal style of Dan Elliott can be heard on "Pictures " and "Quiet Place". Eric Joppa songs "Risen" and "Body Life" offers a great balance. The Threshing Floor is a unique and quality band that has earned its dues. Moreover, they are 'Diamonds In The Rough'.

    Their message is clear and speakes volumes: God, I'll trust in You..God, Your Word I'll praise.. God, I'll walk with You...In the light of day".

    I strongly recommend this CD for its excellent music which is sure to free your spirit.
