Zombie Slave County [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews
About the Artist
Simply the best at what they do.

Not since the arrival of OutKast has a group been so skilled at creating original, musical hip-hop that still holds down street credibility without trying to go with the trends. BlesteNation, made up of rappers Werdplay and Various, and producer/dj Fafu, is a hip-hop group that combines dark sarcasm, outrageous humor and jeep-bumping beats to create an original vision of where hip-hop needs to be going to grow as a movement.

Created in New York City, the home of hip-hop, Blestenation dares you to enter their mythical world of Mbugout City, where shadowy figures lurk in deep clouds of herb smoke, involved in late-nite urban misadventures. Bleste takes up where Cypress Hill left off in terms of giving the audience a comic book to read with their music, but goes much deeper. BlesteNation spits its own brand of slang, clear to its initiates, obscure to most nagging parents. And the Blestenation sound, though its has been compared to Eminem, Cypress Hill, and OutKast, is a fat, crunchy construction of its own unique design.

Even though Blestenation's members are fiends of the laboratory, they pack a mesmerizing psychadelic live show that is dynamic and inventive. It is a dark circus of guests including a violinist, affiliated mc's and singers. A Bleste show is one of the few events where breakdancing is going down right next to slam dancing and stage diving. Gems for the skate-punk and b-boy alike, Blestenation is dragging hip-hop kicking and screaming into the future.

Peace,
Daniel Wyatt

Album Description
You're driving down a deserted road.......Lost. You spot with your eye, something that is yellow. All of a sudden, your grip on reality slowly begins to slip away. There is a sign up ahead.... It reads "1) Enter Zombie Slave County". ydaer ouy era? Suddenly you get hit in the head very hard. You lose consciousness. That was "2) The Newest BANG BANG". When you wake up you're slightly severely depressed. That's the city for you. Soldier Domebone and the Earlobe. You are beginning to discover the newgative reality that is M. B. C.

Now that you're "3) Down and Out in M.B.C." you decide that concentrating on and making fun of other people's flaws will help you to accept and deal with yours. Grills on the screen!!!!!! Grills on the screen!!!!!!! Due to existment, if you make it through, your flaws no longer matter depending on how long you last. Those who can't handle it realize it's time to retreat, but find it hard to tear themselves away. Are you gonna bounce or are you gonna bounce? How are you going to get out of here? dekcuf ruoy! Time for a cornmeal "4) Evacuation". Cornmeals are running frantically through the same "5) Freak Show" that the residents, delegates, and new recruits are taking a slow guided tour of. Oh what fun it is to die on a funny looking grill.

Some of those who've survived the freak show choose to pass some time and kill some braincells at Max Manegras's "6) Mami Head" Msmoke Shop. Most people think that weed makes you paranoid. It doesn't make you paranoid it shows you your true self, and makes you lazy....stupid. So instead of putting forth any effort or trying to make any progress, you should just "7) Keep it like DAT". It's easier that way. Being lazy makes you tired. You stop and sit in a dark alley. You hear a loud and angry character in the distance ranting and raving about what he does not like. He screams repeatedly "8) Don't Hate Me". This is the type of positive attitude that MBugout City was built on (although some would argue that it was an old burial ground because of the zombies that roam. But you may never see them for who they are. Zombies).

You look in a window and you see two little kids tucking in a huge monster into bed. Mommy comes in and says "go to bed monster boy you huge thing you." The monster throws the little kids out the window and tells them to "9) Hushhh". We scum thoo. They were cooking eggs. Fat bitches get bacon necklaces. Take it ease pots and pans. And then we sing things that have you be thinking bout shit. They have you seen the man. You should have read the man's mind so you could have seen the man's thoughts from the man's perspective. You drive "10) nottobestopped" through the cornmeal fields. There's a sign up ahead... it reads....... MBUGOUT CITY.

4 out of 5 stars Different Flava of Hip Hop!.......2004-03-25

This group is quite unique...I know them more for their contribuation to the Blue Crush soundtrack. A hip-hop remix to Bananarama..."Cruel Summer." Ever since, I've really enjoyed their movie, and unique rhyming skills. If you like the originality of Outkast, you'll enjoy Blestenation. This CD is an evolution of hip-hop, because it is not following trends, it is setting them. It's showing that hip-hop can have more elements to it, than just a tight beat. Although there are not too many tracks on this album, which diapoints me, it's still well worth it. Amazing talents, with a very unique and different writing style, that is nothing less than off the hook!
