Arising from a mammoth triple CDR released by Nick Zammuto a few years back as a private pressing, Infraction brings to light disc one of the Solutiore of Stareau trilogy (following the Apt. B records release of disc three entitled, simply, willscher). This disc one is a quiet atmospheric minimal soundscape. Distant radio waves floating in the night, warm drones rising and falling, punctured by a faint yet insistant pulsing rhythm. Deep listening in which surface variation is so subtle - getting lost in the recording for hours is almost inevitable if you give it the time. Time well spent. [INFX 002]

I received the full trilogy from Nick Zammuto back when he was just a "cottage industry," and the first disc is by far the most striking. Created from vinyl that Zammuto modified in order to create pops, scratches, and other sounds, and fed through PVC to create "feedback," this album is exceedingly warm and ambient. So mellow as to hardly qualify as background music, it's the perfect disc to just put on and close your eyes to as you wrap up in a warm blanket.
