Album Description
Big Girl Records' mission is to identify and promote outstanding singer/songwriters and to raise funds and awareness for literacy. A portion of the proceeds from every Big Girl Records release will go to literacy organizations.

The label's debut release, "Can You Read This Boston?", recently won the 2000 Kahlua Boston Music Award for "Outstanding Folk/Acoustic Album" and Crossroads Magazine's Gold Star for being the "Best Contemporary Folk Compilation" in the U.S. in 1999. $2.50 from the sale of every copy of "Can You Read This Boston?" is being contributed to the Boston Adult Literacy Fund (BALF). The project has raised over $2100 for BALF in its first year of release.
