About the Artist
Dr. Yo, aka Aaron Ross, is a veteran video artist whose work has screened at avante-garde festivals worldwide. With a background in the visual arts, Aaron attended the Art Institute of Chicago. There he studied performance, sound and video, and received a BFA in 1990. He immediately moved on to graduate studies in Film and Video at California Institute of Arts, where he continued to develop his personal style of visual music. Each of the 15 tracks on "The Alchemist's Dream" is a pocket universe with its own compelling reality. Dr. Yo combines industrial, electronic and 60's psychedelic musical styles in a unique synthesis which ranges from meditative to angst-ridden.
