Album Description
Chicago bassist Ken Haebich and Los Angeles guitarist Andre Caporaso got together for one week in August, in which they composed and recorded 'Rubber Space'. The CD contains 11 instrumental originals that combine straight ahead and avant garde influences as well as melodic songs and open ballads. Haebich drives the music from behind the bass, creating many colors and forms. Caporaso's guitar states the melodies and solos freely throughout. The fretless guitar/fretless bass combination is utilized quite a bit. Keyboardist Gordon James plays with a cool sense of orchestration and delivers richly melodic solos.
