About the Artist
The History of McS (now known as rodSUN) goes back two and a half years ago, 1999. Starting out as a three-man band formed by ambition. The bass player, Trick, had a mild guitar playing background but was soon thrust into the bass player position and given a crash course on how to play; the drummer had some drumming experience but was forced to bone up on his skin playing and was taught by Vhon to perform intricate drum patterns, the guitarist had to quickly learn many solo guitar riffs. After several days of practice amongst the guitarist, bassist, and the drummer, they decided to form a band. The band was nameless for the few gigs that it had performed forand after going through a mild identity crisis, the members decided that a permanent name was in order. As suggested through a joke by the drummer, Marc, the name Middle Child Syndrome was born. During this period, the band had not found a lead singer yet, so the guitarist had to do double duty as sole guitar and lead singer. But Vhon soon became tired of performing like this and made it a point to look out for a singer. On January 30, 1999, Vhon and the future lead singer, Sun-Sun, met during a birthday party. With a piano handy, Vhon and Sun-Sun jammed to a few songs and soon realized the chemistry they had as musicians. Vhon announced to the group that he had found a new singer, eagerly introducing Sun-Sun. With several days of practices and gigs, McS (the now shortened name) formed into a new and more energetic band. Seasons change, summer came... Performing at Sun-Sun's church, Sam, approached the lead singer for an audition into the band. Him being a very accomplished guitar player landed him a spot almost immediately, thus almost completing the current guitar line-up. Months later, during practices a creepy little boy by the name of Ryan, would hang around and pester the other members. Not really knowing guitar, his perserverance soon earned him a spot in the band, and thus the current line up was complete. Vhon, Sun-sun, Sam, Patrick, Ryan, and Marc. ........time passed....... rodSUN was born. rodSUN was created when we decided to make our CD (We have no label yet. If any recording labels out there interested on us, we're here waiting for you). It was name after our front man's real name.
