Mass Transit
Editorial Reviews
Album Description
A solid collection of songs by some of Seattle's best unrecognized bands. Despite a wide variety of musical styles, this compilation has a strong sense of continuity and flow from track to track, and makes for an enjoyable listen start to finish. Musical styles range from indie rock to abstract electronica, math rock to alt-country, drum'n'bass to pop, and all things in between. Recommended for music lovers with broad tastes.

Solid Gold Championship!.......2002-05-02
If you're wondering where all the adveturous Northwest indie music has gone (and where it's heading in the next decade), "Mass Transit" is the compass needle that points to solid gold! The "scene" has been a bit dry in the last few years, but a well of intellegent young rock and electronic bands are rising above the waterline and seeping into packed clubs, onto the radiowaves, and finally into your stereos. Woodson Lateral, a local label with very discriminating good taste, introduces you to fifteen(!) of the best bands in town, shifting through a number of genres that both the cooking-and-cleaning music listener and the well-versed headphone listener will appreciate. "Mass Transit" will surely become one of those records that defines a musical movement. The album's not easy to find outside of the Northwest, but it is worth the extra effort to get your hands on a copy.
