5 out of 5 stars All I Feel I Hope.......2006-06-02

I truly enjoy this whole cd. I own all of Toad the Wet Sprocket official releases. I have never been disappointed by any of there releases. Still, I do have which one of their releases are my favorites. This cd is one of the favorites...if anything for the track "Hope." A beautifully haunting ethereal song which I enjoy playing on those cloudy rainy days.

Great lyrics, great musicianship, and great artistry. Great work from these guys....Well done!!!

5 out of 5 stars Another great album from a great band.......2006-05-23

Underrated is the word for this band...and this album doesn't dissapoint! Great songwriting, and a great voice and musicianship! Makes me miss the early 90's as well!!

5 out of 5 stars miss early 90's.......2005-10-31

I miss the early 90's. Toad summs up early 90's alternative music for me. This album is my second fav from them.

5 out of 5 stars just too good to imagine.......2002-11-18

This album is......... superb! I can't get enough of it right now and forever. I orginally bought it in casette format for only one song, "Good Intentions" back in the day. Oh, btw Toad has returned to the stage(for a limited time only I guess) as an opening act for Counting Crows. I think it should it be the other way around. Alright back to the review. I constantly find myself mouthing the words of every single song on the album(to myself of course) when I'm not listening to it. Its just one addicting style of music that never ceases to amaze the ears and soul. Toad is a California dream that fell from the sky. Who ever said the trend moves East to West??? West to east is more like it. I love Glen Phillips. He is sooo talented. I just listened to "Albulum" on DVD-Audio. If you can get your hands on it--go for it. It is unreal. It has a live performance of Glen performing in California at his local favorite hotspots such as Largo in Santa Monica or Santa Barbara(I forget-oops)acoustic only. He is unreal to see live. The sound quality od DVD Audio for those Audiophiles will be soooo impressed. I had to keep turning the main volume down a hair so that my ear drums wouldn't explode. 5.1 channel--there is no substitute. I wish "In Light Syrup" was offered in DVD Audio format. My favorite songs include "Little Heaven", "All in All", "So Alive" and of course "G.I."

Alright stop reading this and go buy the cd(my cassette is wearing out!!)

5 out of 5 stars H Town's finest.......2005-09-08

Every since I was in the 5th grade I was listening to Big Moe and the S.U.C. They are known all around htown from the Northside to the Southside. RIP to DJ Screw he was down with them to. There has never been an album Big Moe didn't wreck on. THe whole WReck shop records make tight albums. The first ever Big Moe song I ever heard was "Bar Baby" and that was the tighest song i ever heard. Big Moe put htown on the map and now we can't be stopped............................... H TOWN 4 LIFE

5 out of 5 stars A unique cd.......2004-04-12

Big moe is a big man out of texas who can sing with the best of them.He sings over those texes rap beats and always has a couple of well known texas rappers mixed in with him in his songs the song.I never heard of him, he came out of nowhere .I first heard barre baby in 2000 on the internet and immeditley had to get the cd. After listening to it I like the other songs to. I wonder, ill do it, get back are my favorites but i wish i would cut back on the rapper and do his singing more. The is his best work.

4 out of 5 stars ONCE YOU HEAR THIS, YOU'LL BE LIKE MAAN!.......2004-01-15

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST INDEPENDANTLY RELEASED RAP ALBUMS I'VE EVER HEARD. FILLED WITH GUEST APPEARANCES FROM THE WRECKSHOP FAMILY, BIG MOE RELEASED THIS UNDEREXPOSED ALBUM. THE DOPEST SONGS ARE THE TITLE TRACK, ''MAAN!'', ''I WONDER'', AND ''GET BACK''. THIS ALBUM SERIOUSLY DEMANDS TO BE HEARD. I'MA TELL YOU NOW, BIG MOE ACTUALLY DOES VERY LITTLE RAPPING AND A LOT MORE SINGING. THIS REMAINS THE BEST ALBUM THAT BIG MOE HAS RELEASED.

5 out of 5 stars The Barre Baby.......2001-07-18

This album is bangin'. People were tellin me that this album wasnt any good, but they were some liers!!!! If u ever heard the song Mann!!!! then u know thats a southern classic. Theres a few songs in here that needed some improvement, but most of the songs are jammin. The June 27th freestyle is one of my favorite cuts on this. Big Moe has a strong voice and thats what helped this album out. In my opinion this is the best album wreckshop has put out, and Big Moe's the tightest artist they have signed. so check it out.

5 out of 5 stars MAAAAN!.......2001-06-22

this cd is hot! representin h-town, big moe puts it down on choppaz cuz he's the barre baby, along with the rest of the wreckshop family like E.S.G. and tighteyes including even D.J. SCREW on the chopped n screwed version.

    Album Description

Full-length CD Aug 2002 KC017 Struts & Shocks, Seana Carmody's first solo album, is fully representative of where she's been in her musical career (see bio) and who she is now. It's rich and multi-faceted, one minute reposing in the gentle land of dream-pop and the next busily ripping into noise strata via tangles of roughhewn guitar. There is a canniness of craft in these songs, so fully realized despite their mostly economical 2-3 minutes in length. Yet when Seana does choose to stretch out into space rock territory, she does it with the aplomb of a seasoned traveller. And traversing the changing musical dimensions is that voice, sounding alternately naive and seductive, but always steadfast, sure, and lovely. Assisted by Orrin Anderson from former band Syrup USA and Adam Brilla from Lockgroove, Seana Carmody makes all the right moves on Struts & Shocks. Listeners will be moved right along with her.

Easilly my favorite album from 1997. The swishiest band that ever came out of Boston. What nice production Christina Files did to place the instruments around Seana Carmody's vocals. Those lyrics I'd been wondering about really are about sex.

a very beautiful cd..full of gorgeous and quite child-like melodies that drift and float along the heavenly vocals and lots of spacey guitar riffs. if you can find a copy of this cd..get it. i wonder if this ever was released on vinyl...ohhh...now that would be a 5-star for sure!

5 out of 5 stars Heavy, twisted, and oh so gorgeous...........2002-08-27

This album is truly beautiful. Heavy sonics and way spaced grooves with ethereal femal vocals. All the songs are sung in japanese. The singing is stunning, and these long jammy tunes are the perfect backdrop. Highly reccomended to anyone who enjoys psychedelic music at all.

Oh yeah, that's right. If you haven't heard of Syrup then you need to be brought up to speed. They're the new thing in music. Their live shows are the shiznit and then some. They like to drink a lot of Shaffer beer and go swiming sometimes in swiming holes. They like whiskey and women with some meat on their bones. Freebass (their old bass player) had to leave to make room for their new bass player. And that's all right. Syrup rocks ...and so does this CD. ...

          Product Description

Syrup. The word itself evokes images of sweetness, but the band that bears the name rouse any sugary fantasies to incomparable aural and visual heights with a thick and sticky blend of southern ghetto-fried boogie steeped in bad ass backwoods rocknroll. Hailin from the rolling hills and spring-fed swimming holes of Tallahassee, Florida, Syrup has rocked full houses in hotspots such as Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, New York City and Tampa. Even with a relentless touring schedule, in the winter of 2000, Syrup found time to record a self-titles album in Athens, Ga., with David Barbe of Chase Park Transduction Studios. Though never officially released, Syrup made the rounds among underground rock fanatics before finally finding a home at Feedback Symphony Music. Every track on Syrup reflects the bands original style, a phenomenon drawn from a cauldron of epic influences Exile-era Stones to early ZZ Top and Skynyrd, from Gram Parsons to Grand Funk, from punk rock to funk rock. Syrup mixes it all together in its own unique way to keep the tradition of hard southern soul alive and well. Track List: 1. Fatback High On The Hog 2. Chickens Out Th Henhouse 3. Pimp2nite 4. Sexy Swimmin Hole 5. Miracle Mountain 6. Blue Monkey Disco 7. Showbirds 8. Lay It On Down 9. Vampires On The Diamond Parade 10. Street Hassle
