...a bracing blast of beach-punk and indie-pop, played from the heart and sprinkled with super songs.

Ever since 1998, with the release of their self-titled debut, Temporary Basement has been pummeling the NoVa/D.C. scene with sweet sounds that can go from emo to reggae to metal to alt-rock all within the same song.

5 out of 5 stars Wow, theyve done it again.......2002-08-19

Wow... this was completly unexpected. My friend got this Cd and as soon as i heard it i ordered it. Usually im not into the whole emo/power pop scene, but Temporary Basement have found a way to combine everything from reggae to hard rock into this cd. The songs are all pulled together by melodic keyboard riffs, strong guitar writting, and catchy vocals that i cant get out of my head no matter what i do. The vocals arnt that common high voice screaming and crying at the same time, they are much more distict than most bands giving temp a unique sound. All emo dosent have to sound the same now! This cd is worth the [money] and is much better than the ... Cds at local music stores. It screams BUY ME all over it.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2002-03-13

Yeah normally, ripping off songs from the internet is the way to go for most people, but try buying a cd every once in a while. Especially when it's really good. This is a great album, worth my money. Every song is a great one, that I am probably going to listen to over and over again. Hey a record with more than one good song!

5 out of 5 stars Its excellent.......2002-02-24

I got the CD about a 2 weeks ago and its a great CD. I like every song on the CD. It's the only CD I have that i can put it in my CD player and listen to every song on the CD.

5 out of 5 stars Temporary Basement...soon to take over the world.......2002-02-24

One of the best CDs to come out this year. TB has been able to keep the raw edge that encompasses underground rock with a perfect blend of melodic tones and hypnotizing harmonies that only exists in a well oiled rock machine. I am amazed at the way that TB is able to pull the influences of so many great bands while adding their own touch to everything and sounding entirely different than anything else out there. Their style and musical genius is a tribute to anyone who has tried to work hard and put together the sweat, blood, tears, and money that it takes to make good, important, ground breaking music. The maturity level and the chemistry of all the band members is exemplified in the song "Maybe I" which utilizes harmonies and chord tones of the pop rock bands of the eighties, yet has a post-modern feel and a distinct personality that can only be displayed by a band like TB. Trully an ingenious song about the frustrations and hardships that exist when being an honest and genuine person in this materialistically driven, dishonest, and often times cruel society and how dealing with this unfair environment yet keeping a sense of self is a true battle for the ages. Undoubetdly, a poetic and musical materpiece that is coincidentally a microcosm of the band as a whole, in that they are a honest true to self band involved in a rock world which is often times unfair, hypocritical, and nonsensical. An album that appeals to many universal feelings while still being effective at a deeper individualistic level. Undoubetdly the most ground breaking, brave, influential, and thought provoking album to come out of a often times mundane, homogonized area (Washington DC) of mediocre music.
