Narcotic Lollipop
Gibby, Slab, Feb 1, 2002
The moodiest late night record I've heard in a while. Turn the lights down and enjoy.
Fred Ryder, Glassware Inc, Feb 2002
Hints of Yo La Tengo, Tom Waits, Low. Yet sounds like none of them. Great stuff
Album Description
Stone Jack Jones has written an album chock full of emotion and mind bending surrealism. In an attempt to move music away from being a product he's created an album with incredible vibe where mood opens doors to the conscious and takes listeners on a cerebral trip. Collaborating with famed indie producer Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater Kinney, Guster, Beulah, Lou Reed, Josh Rouse) they throw out all conventions, blending slight pop influences with a raw etheral sound. And alt country singer Patty Griffin is featured on Taj Mahal. It's finger painting instead of paint by numbers
