Snowdogs formed in 1997. Brothers Ville and Mat Leppanen were born in Finland, spent some time as kids in the States and relocated permanently to South London where they formed their pop-punk trio and signed to Track Records ( former home of Jimi Hendrix and The Who). Track closed its doors and Victory is now releasing their debut album “Animal Farm” worldwide along with signing the band for future releases. Snowdogs play ultra catchy feel good buzz-pop with a visceral edge that keeps their sound real and believeable. They have been compared to THE OFFSPRING, SOUL ASYLUM, GREEN DAY, PLACEBO and THE REPLACEMENTS. The first single "Are You With Missy?" was BBC Radio 1 Rock Record of the Week when it came out.

    This is the best thing since sliced bread. I found this record in a drunken state downtown as it was pointed to by the store man at the record store. get it today...it rocks.

      I don't have this soundtrack but I have the movie. The music from the movie is awesome! It's so moving. I get teary sometimes. I have sampled this cd also. I highly recommmend this CD and the movie. Get the movie with the REAL animals. DO NOT get the cartoon. The cartoon sucks! The book sucked too. It stops right in the middle of the movie. The movie tells you how it all ends.

      I was not really a fan of this movie, although I adored the book. However, although I did not like the movie adaptation, I absolutely LOVE the music. I would definately pick up this soundtrack.

      Animal Farm is the best film score I have ever heard. It's beautiful and haunting on so many levels. The songs really convey the emotion of the film(which is really good, by the way)Beasts of the World is really reminiscent of the Communist Revolution. The Theme Storm of Judgment resonates with the hope of the animals as well the darkness of Napoleon's reign. Highly recommended!

      The composer for the TV movie Animal Farm, Richard Harvery, is not a big name in the scoring industry nor has his other works. Animal Farm has been unfairly subjected to this type of rejection even though it is a true classic. It shows a variety of moods from dark to playful to moving and Richard Harvery shows this seamlessly and masterfully. The score begins with the moving main theme played over an electronic beat, Zimmer style. The theme has a sound like the theme from Last Of The Mohicans and always breaks out majestically and with power. It easily conveys the hopes of the farm animals. The happier tracks are playful and remind me of the playful music in some of John Williams' scores but with more emphasis on the woodwinds and less overly happy. Chorus plays an integral role in the film. The fantastic dark rebellion theme, sung in English, reminds me of the theme from Hunt For The Red October and parts of Conan the Barbarian. It, along with the rest of the music and songs in the film, sound Russian in style and without corny stupid lyrics. On track 6, after chaotic scoring, the rebellion theme comes in with overwhelming feeling by the French Horns. Too bad the theme only appears in the beginning. The farm life theme, some parts reminding me of Jame Horner's Titanic, played after the animals are free is lifting and flowing in a lyrical style. Towards the ending the music gets darker again and more sinister. Squealer's theme, a variation of the main theme, fits the pig's loyalty to Napoleon and the Song of The Grateful Duck sounds like a Russian opera which turns malevolent. Words cannot describe this masterpiece. It is not your average TV movie score or film score. The subtle scoring and themes make this a memorable score. I highly recommend it above most scores.
