Editorial Reviews
Diana Obscura
Flagpole, Athens, GA
She rages through a sort of punked-up, avant garde blend of chamber music and theatre...
Creative Loafing, July 2000
...spans the spectrum from archaic Celtic art songs to eccentric noir jazz to minimalist punk aggression.
Album Description
Diana Obscura's music falls into that creepy, minimalist void between modern classical music and the medieval sensibilities of Dead Can Dance. Often stripped down to cello and voice, the songs make you want to stop gnawing your mutton, put down your mead and listen, then wonder how this strange lady got into the meadhall. Obscura also plays with scathing, grinding electronic angst on "A-9 APU/ST1200." Fascinating, delicate, powerful, haunting...an amazing debut EP.
