A beautiful compilation that plays well together.......2003-02-18

I have listened to a number of compilations of "emerging" singer-songwriters and my complaints are usually that either the quality of the songs is inconsistant or that the song styles just don't go together. This CD, on the other hand, totally works. The individual songs are all wonderful and their sequence enhances the quality of the individual efforts. No need for reprogramming here. In fact, the hardest part of writing this review is deciding which tracks stand out. Because in the end, this CD works almost as a late night, low key call and response among a gathering of wise souls. This CD not only introduced me to some artists of whom I was not aware. It's just a great CD for both intense listening or as background to add a thoughtful, elegant mood to whatever you're doing
