Editorial Reviews Circumstantial Evidence is an independent low-budget film currently being filmed in Phoenix. The story revolves around the lead guitarist of an instrumental band that plays art galleries and sells controversial fake crime scene photos, much in the vein of Naked City, as a means to develop a following and generate income. When someone uses one of the photographs as a template for a real murder, the band is implicated and the bad publicity leads to even bigger draws and more money. Even the members of the band dont know if one of their own is doing it as some sort of morbid publicity stunt. Throw in a bumbling pair of FBI agents, a botched stake out, and hilarity ensues. Part black comedy and part film noir crime drama, the film hopefully will be as good as the hype.

... a lush mix of indie rock, blues, lounge and some electronic elements as well.
About the Artist
The VELVETEEN MONSTER started out as The Czars' side project in 1997, but quickly evolved into one the most uniquely original outfits around. Described as a perfect blend of original film soundtrack, smoking room, and game show music. Their first CD, The Original Soundtrack of the Velveteen Monster, was released in 1999 to critical acclaim and high praise in magazines such as Westword, The Onion, and the Hooligan. After opening for equally esoteric bands Acetone, Jux County, The... read more
Album Description
"Circumstantial Evidence" is the 2nd album from The Velveteen Monster, and its the soundtrack to the yet to be released film of the same name. Featuring 12 new tracks of all original material (only two with vocals!), it showcases the bands ability to pull off minor key rock epics, a waltz, swamp blues, all with electronica elements and the usual velvet lounge-ness. The disc kicks off with the sinister and pulsating Seven Ways to Kill, and other highlights include the ballad Dressed in Gasoline, and the slo-core last track Blu Bottle.
