Upsetting Remedy

Editorial Reviews
Chris Castiglione, August, 2001
You're the Run, DMC and Jam Master RJ-45 of the electro world. You've got more rhythm than a timing diagram!

Alex's Mom, August, 2001
Not since Nine Inch Nails have I gotten my housework done so quickly!

Album Description
Upsetting Remedy is the debut effort of Cambridge, MA's Livesexact.

The disc offers up twelve tracks of Livesexact's un-pigeon-holy strain of techno-punk-dance-pop.

With synth sounds that leave the taste of metal in your mouth, beats that whip you into a frenzy of syncopated housework, and lyrics that leave you sighing and smirking all at once, Livesexact delivers itself with gusto.

For all its member's nerdly credentials, the band never loosens its grip on the groove, even on its eerier ballads.

And its precise application of samples, ranging from effusive realtors to pop culture cartoons to throbbing kechak chants, creates an ambiance that each song inhabits with ease and grace, like a break-dancer on a parquet floor.

One by one the tracks accrete into a vision of a world where things are sorely amiss, but if we let the music pry our minds open, and shake our booties loose, then we can begin to change the situation.

With full-on dancing at this revolution, Upsetting Remedy cures what ails.
