About the Artist
Let's start with some questions. What came first, the chicken or egg, or did the theme song come before the movie it's about? Films have soundtracks, but have you ever heard the soundtrack to a novel? In the fast paced music industry, it seems like once you become familiar with artists, you never hear about them again. Rarely do you hear about anybody who is ground breaking or trend setting. So take a moment to be introduced to Gary Holmes. Unlike almost every artist you are already familiar with, Gary Holmes is unique in a number of ways. First, Gary's songs are a musical journey. Like the soundtrack to an imaginary film, the songs tell stories that take listeners into the movie theater of their mind's eye. In other words, something like radio theater before the invention of television, it's an audio drama experience. Also, inspired by the concept of the heavy metal spoof "Spinal Tap", Gary presents "Theater for the Blind (TFTB)", a fictitious band, as a tongue and cheek opportunity to present literary characters in a modern day context. Some of his songs musically project selected cinematic images. For example, more than reading the novel, watching the David Lean film version of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations", inspired story re-telling from the movie as the songs "Miss Havisham and Mistress". Other selections explore spirituality, challenges to the world status quo, and Gary's life experiences. Amid sincere songwriting , the concept of TFTB, the local coffee house pop stars struggling daily to survive, lends the element of humorous fantasy to a musical stage wealthy with literature based songs, double meanings and metaphors. With this debut CD, "Water", Gary Holmes invites you to put your headphones on; turn the lights down and the stereo up; close your eyes , and visualize the sound. Like the days of radio theater, there's no television screen to look at.
Album Description
Dubbed from a long ago SNL skit, "Theater for the Blind" is the name of our independent record company. Whenever they are together, it is also the name of the unseen musical band for our current project-"Water". Our goal is to create, and release songs that produce the vision of a story line, or some tangible image in in the mind of the listener. We are not opposed to ever producing videos for our music, but through song writing and performance, we seek to establish the effect achieved by radio theater presentations before the invention of television-a time when the blind and the sighted equally enjoyed audio presentations on the radio. As a Christian company, the primary goal of this record label also entails glorifying God through producing music that brings "sight to a blind world", and supporting artists with a committment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. The Songs: Water-A CD with 10 Selections 1. Only Until I have concluded that only until opening up to the possibility of failure, there is no probability of success. Are we living our own dreams, or the dreams that somone else has in mind? 2. Mistress In the pages of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, Miss Havisham had a broken heart, and she raised her adopted daughter, Stella, to break the hearts of others. Her very much enamored admirer, Pip, became the brunt of this upbringing, but he kept on loving her just the same. On the topic of Thanksgiving in the United States, Dickens criticized Americans as having a backwards concept. Rather than thanking God just one day out of the year, we should be thankful on all the other days, and take just one day to complain about every thing else. 3. Hazy Sunshine This song could be about many things. It is the most common term on local T.V. weather reports in Los Angeles. To me, Hazy Sunshine , is about the twelve tribes of Israel on their way out of Egypt. Here they are, delivered by the hand of God from Pharoh and tyranny, and on their way to a promised land. All they can do is complain about everything they see as missing. "There is no water here, have we been brought this far to die of thirst?". God brings them water from a rock. As slaves they could see that their next meal would come from their Egyptian oppressors. With God, they are learning to live by faith. In the mean time, nostalgia for security in the old days of bondage hazes, or makes less clear, the miracle of their new deliverance. I hate when I make that same mistake. 4. Water We live in a world where an abundance of "isms" rule much of how people treat each other. We have racism, sexism and ageism to name a few. There are times that we assume things incorrectly, and we hurt each other when we really don't have to. I wish there were no cliques, de facto segregation, or secret society demographics to consider in the world equation. As God once flooded the Earth with water, so should we too cleanse away discrimination, hatred, and unjustified judgementalism. 5. Everafterforevermore I wish I had written all of this song, but I didn't. The narration and verse lyrics are from an anonymous poem titled, "The Letter in the Night". The final line of the piece says "pass this message on to others", so that's what I am doing through this song. I added instrumental music from sequencer patterns, and contributed the words to the chorus: Everafterforevermore, I should have known this fate before My soul could have been to heaven sent but to this fire pit it went 6. Thank You Jesus This song tells about who Jesus is, and why I thank Him. 7. Cross House Night So many people and so many stories all in one place. My older brother Darryl was an all night security guard at an apartment building one summer. Sometimes I would follow him to work. The people who lived there were like clockwork--same people, same place, same time. I was never there to see what happened in the day light . I guess that would be a different story and a different song. That place existed for me only at night. 8. Miss Havisham A broken heart takes a long time to heal, if at all. For a long time I took a very condescending position towards this Dickens' character (Miss Havisham). I later realized that getting past a monumental disappointment is easier said than done, and I have never even been jilted at the marital alter. Miss Havisham was. It takes time, good friends, and most importantly, God. Still, we are better off counting the today's blessings, rather than focusing on the disappointments of the past. 9. Short Edit-Everafterforevermore This mix is the same as the longer version minus the spoken narration. Nothing deep, just a shorter version to listen to. 10. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah (Thank You Jesus Remix) Yeah, yeah, yeah are fun words to sing. At the elementary schools where I have taught, my students take a liking to this song when they hear it playing in the background. It's flattering to hear requests for , "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah". The name stuck, and I had something new to call this remix of "Thank You Jesus".

wedding music.......2007-07-18
This CD contains a smattering of all the traditional pieces you would expect to be played during a wedding ceremony which is why I purchased it. I do like it and it will be used at my ceremony. I prefer a little more big orchestral sound but this will do nicely.
Great Product.......2007-05-31
I bought this CD for my wedding. It is a very good product, great compilation of songs and great service.
Excellent Classical Wedding Music.......2007-05-14
Beautiful Classical Wedding music! CD has a wide varity of music; many favorites. Using ours for pre-wedding music, processional and recessional for our daughter's wedding! Thank you Amazon.com! MM
Traditional and wonderful.......2007-04-10
I bought this CD for my ballet classes and am really happy with it. It has all of the classics, and each is very true to it's original composition. There are a lot of horns, which are not my favorite, but the strings make it worth every penny!
Awesome!!!!.......2007-02-13
I purchased this for my daughters' wedding and it is so awesome, even heard songs on the cd that we just wonderful to use somewhere else during the ceremony.
Thanks,

classic music CD.......2007-06-27
The CD was well represented by the clips on the Amazon website and came in time for our event. We did have a problem with the charge but that was taken care of promptly. Great service.
Good for beginners.......2007-02-15
It is an excellent collection of classical music. I would recommend this CD if you have a friend who don't like classical music, since it has the most beautiful overtures and portions of famous artists. If you are a Classic Music Savvy you probably will not be impressed by it, unless you want to play the CD as background music in a friends gathering.
Great mix.......2007-02-14
All the best composers! Over an hour of music. A samble of the greatest pieces.

Amazon.com essential recording
No one can say Simon & Garfunkel went out with a whimper. The popular duo's 1970 swan song produced four hit singles and won six Grammy awards, including Record, Album, and Song of the Year. An involving mix of sweeping epics ("The Boxer," the title track) and breezy throwaways (a live cover of the Everly Brothers' "Bye Bye Love," the rock & roll trifle "Baby Driver"), Bridge was one of the most popular albums of its era. What's particularly striking about this collection is how brightly lesser-acclaimed songs like "So Long Frank Lloyd Wright" and the gorgeous "The Only Living Boy in New York" shine. (The 2001 reissue adds a pair of demos to the original work, including the traditional "Feuilles-O.")--Steven Stolder
Customer Reviews:
Simon & Garfunkel at their finest............2007-06-08
BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER was my introduction to Simon & Garfunkel, as a young child. We owned the original vinyl edition, and I am (honestly) surprised that I didn't wear a hole through it! That's how often I lstened to it. Quickly, I memorized most of the songs and was constantly singing along to Art Garfunkel's light falsetto, that blended so well with Paul Simon's steadfast, slightly lower voice, in their singing duo. This album is filled with classic S&G songs that still remain very well known today. The title song is gorgeous and haunting, "El Condor Pasa" is their English language take on a traditional Incan melody rich with powerful lyrics, "Cecilia" is upbeat and syncopated, "The Boxer" can still bring tears to my eyes, and the rest of the songs are equally compelling (for different reasons). There are layers of brilliance, on BRIDGE, in the arrangements, delivery, and melody that carry the body of work with power and grace. I am sure you will agree and that is why I can't reccomend this masterpiece more.
Bridge.......2007-05-12
this album reminds me of my childhood. It is the ultimate Simon and Garfunkle album.
culmination of their evolution into pop music artists.......2007-03-07
As my title states, I believe this album is the culmination of S&G's evolution from a message-driven anti-war folk duo to phenomenal pop music artists. Some may find that evolution distasteful, even a betrayal of what their previous work accomplished. For me, what overcomes such thoughts is the simple beauty of the music. Yes, the title track sounds a bit overproduced, but the message and feeling still come through loud and clear, and no other performer of this song has come close to conveying what S&G were able to in their original recording.
El Condor Pasa brought Peruvian music to the pop world, an inkling of Paul Simon's later penchant for integrating world music into his work. My mother will forever quote the second line of that song when she wants to motivate me to do something ("I'd rather be a hammer than a nail"), and I guarantee that that song, as well as almost every other one on the album, will be remembered long after we are all gone.
One of the much criticized tracks in this forum has been "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright". It happens to be one of my all time favorite recordings. Mr Wright was and is a hero to me, standing for American originality, defiance of the status quo; the song is a fitting tribute. It is stunning in its simplicity, and Garfunkel's vocals are unmatched in their angelic tenor. And what pop or rock guitarist today could play the lovely guitar part in this song?
The rest are memorable, except for their live cover of "bye bye love", which, I will agree with others here, was a mistake to throw in. Certainly in my top 10 albums of all time.
great music.......2007-03-04
What a *fantastic* emotional album Bridge Over Troubled Water is. It's almost funny to me that this album was released almost on the same date as Black Sabbath's debut! This just goes to show how diverse and interesting the rock scene was back in the late 60's and 70's.
Anyone who loves taking an emotional roller-coaster ride will get a HUGE amount of satisfaction out of this album. Simply put- a must have. You will love this album now, and probably for the rest of your life. Buy it right now.
4.5 stars: Good album that falls apart at the end.......2006-10-05
A lot to like here, the very best songs being the legendary title track, the Boxer and The Only Living Boy in New York - Cecilia, El Condor Pasa, Baby Driver and Try to Keep the Customer Satisfied are also good songs. But some of these songs fall apart, particularly the last three: Song for the Asking feels incomplete; Why Don't You Write Me is a throwaway; the live cover of Bye Bye Love doesn't add much. Probably their best, though Bookends is also quite good.

Those who know Jack Johnson only as college radio fave are in for a pleasant surprise here, as are wave-riding aficionados with a taste for eclectic, cooled-out musical vibes. The project Surfer magazine hailed as 2000's Video of the Year was originally a collaboration between surfing champ/then-USC film student Johnson and school colleagues Chris and Dan Malloy. But Johnson also gratifyingly took the opportunity to prove that "surf music" is purely a subjective term; indeed, electric instruments are few and far between here, let alone the traditional buzzsaw licks of such genre stalwarts as Dick Dale and Gary Hoey. Instead, Johnson has stitched together an organically focused, acoustic-centered collection that would seem as welcome on a shady creek bank as a sunny, wave-lapped beach. Johnson offers up an acoustic take of his sophomore album's "Holes to Heaven" and the sprightly instrumentals "Moonshine" and "Cove," while longtime associate G. Love duets on the spare, rootsy "Rainbow." Love and band Special Sauce also contribute the even grittier instrumental "Hobo Blues" and laconic "Honor and Harmony." But its also a collection that ventures as far afield as The Meters' 70's-funky "Liver Splash"., Finley Quaye's spare soul, the folk-raga of Kalyanji/Anadji's "My Guru" and the spacey, haunting "Dark Water and Stars" by Natural Calamity. --Jerry McCulley

thicker than water is a great movie, thicker than water is a great sountrack, the blend of instrumentals and vocals is perfect, a perfect cd for listening while driving to your favorite surf spot itll give you a good attitude for going out into the water, all songs are GREAT but I really like rainbow and underwater love! g love is cool too
Redefining Surf Music - Jack & Friends.......2006-10-29
Jack takes beach music beyond the Beach Boys and Dick Dale and redefines the laid back sound of the surf. Jack contributes to a few track both solo efforts and with G. Love - the great, but simple Rainbow Blues. This album is great and gets better with repeat listings. Buy and enjoy.
Thicker Than Water.......2006-07-25
A collection of songs from some great musicians. I really liked the title track "Thicker Thank Water" by Todd Hannigan. [...]
Great CD!!! Love Jack's music!.......2006-07-25
Jack Johnson is the greatest new artist on the market. This cd is awesome. Matt Costa and G.Love sound good with Jack, love the Rainbow song.
Good Album.......2006-07-08
I had all of Jack Johnson's other albums before I purchased this one. I enjoy this album. It's not all Jack Johnson which gives for a nice mix of songs. I like the songs Jack Johnson does on this album as much as any of his others, not to mention the other songs on the album are pretty good too.
I would reccomend it if you are a Jack Johnson fan or like really chill music. It's a cool album.

Named for a cut that originally appeared on his Tumbleweed Connection album, Madman Across the Water yielded some of Elton John's earliest AOR staples. "Tiny Dancer," like the previous "Your Song," was introduced and carried by John's masterful piano composition. The song's sense of longing also employed the falsetto chorus that would become as much of a trademark as his costumes. "Levon," another entry into the John/Taupin "ballad of" category, is one of their finest pieces. The orchestration gives the song not only its sense of foreboding, but also its release of tension as the song ends. "Rotten Peaches" became a favorite, as did "Holiday Inn." There's also a different interpretation of the title track than appeared on Tumbleweed Connection. --Steve Gdula
Customer Reviews:
Keep listening over and over!.......2007-07-12
I have been dipping into the early Elton albums lately, and this one stops me cold and has me listening over and over. The Taupin lyrics on this album are masterpieces, and Elton delivers them with feeling and perfect melody. This album shows why this team has put out some of the best songs in popular music. True artists. Levon and Indian Sunsets are must haves for any Elton fan.
When Music Was Great.......2007-06-27
It is hard to imagine anyone who has not at least heard or Sir Elton John. He is the piano maestro who would bring Bernie Taupin's lyrics to life with the perfect musical arrangement. The 1970's saw Elton John become the outlandish arena rock, superstar. Unlike other stars, such as Madonna, Elton's outlandishness did not eclipse the music. While his big hits such as, "Good-bye Yellow Brick Road" and "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds", or "Bennie and the Jets" were huge, some of the earlier work showed the promise. "Madman Across the Water" is probably one of the most underrated albums of all time. In 1971 this effort should have been the freashest breath of air out there. Over the decades ballads have become anathema to stadium rock due to their often formulaic blandness. Let it be noted that before "Good-bye Yellow Brick Road", "Madman Across the Water" yielded two of the best ballads ever written, "Tiny Dancer" and "Levon". It was really years later when these songs became appreciated for their timeless brilliance. Both songs evoke a heartfelt emotion and beauty that few balladeers have been able to touch. While those two songs found a big audience on Elton John's greatest hits collection, put into context on the Madman album, they become something more. The title track is epic and sweeps one away with its lush orchestration and length. "Indian Sunset" is another such song and fairly well brings tears to your eyes. All of the songs are well crafted and orchestrated making them moving and powerful thirty-six years later. There were no sappy ballads on this album, just great, solid music. A real testament to a true artist. Any serious music aficionado needs to have this cd in their collection if they don't already have it on vinyl. Here, here, to a time when the music was truly great.
Dam good.......2007-05-13
This is a very under-rated album in the Elton John cannon. OK it probably isn't as good as Honky Chateau or Tumbleweed Connection, but I suspect that its more to do with the lack of a successful single than the quality of the songs on the album. With the exception of the very short "Goodbye" (1:48) only one other track (Razor face 4:40) is under 5 minutes in length. So unless they edited the songs there was no chance of a single from this album.
The album was recorded in 1971 and kicks of with "Tiny Dancer". Its a great opening track, but its beaten by track 2 "Levon". This has one of Eltons patented Piano introductions, a great lyric and arrangement and is one of Eltons greatest tracks never to be released as a single. Full credit should also be given to Paul Buckmasters great string arrangements on this track and many of the others well.
Careful reading of the credits to this album will reveal many well known musicians playing on this album. For example a number of tracks have Rick Wakeman playing Organ and Ray Cooper makes one of his earliest appearances on an Elton John album on "All the Nasties".
I've been playing this album for 30 years or more now and its well worth getting.
Music is life.......2007-03-27
I'm not an avid Elton John fan, I've just like the occasional hit on the radio.
This is an album I enjoyed and I'm not looking for more by EJ.
I don't have much use for organized religion but this album was beyond such nonsense. I gave this 5 stars because I think it was the best of EJ before he became the superstar: sound quality was excellent.
Elton John Madman Across the Water.......2007-01-05
THE BEST album Elton John ever put out. Indian Sunset is such a moving piece of music and Madman Across the water is great!

Album Description
Hayley Westenra's new album Odyssey was always going to be a different proposition to Pure, the record-breaking 2003 collection which marked her international debut. A lot has happened to the young New Zealander over the past two or three years--and those changes are clearly reflected by a record which encapsulates her growth from a budding teenage prodigy into a mature young woman.
Now, at 18, Hayley is ready to show the world how much she has grown up, both as an artist and as an individual. Fans of Pure will be pleasantly surprised by her new album. Her wonderful voice retains its crystal-clear purity, but Westenra's singing is now richer and more rounded than before. Touring the world and singing in some of its greatest concert venues, such as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and Carnegie Hall, has worked wonders for her confidence. Suitably emboldened, she has embraced an even wider range of musical styles including classical, hymns, folk and pop.
"I was happy with Pure at the time, but I've moved on so much," says Hayley. "It's really exciting to have something new out there for people to listen to. I wanted to make a record that represented me as a person. And I think I've improved as a vocalist."
Variety is certainly one of the keywords with Hayley's new album. When she first entered a recording studio in New Zealand as a 12-year-old, Westenra restricted herself to classical pieces and show tunes. Now, in addition to impressive takes on classical works, Hayley uses her new album to perform an inspired cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and has arranged and written much of the material. "I like to push myself, and I'm now confident enough to try different things. I have been much more involved behind the scenes with this album--I wanted to put my individual stamp on each song."
With her career stretching out promisingly before her, Hayley is also keen to continue experimenting. She is still primarily a classical crossover artist but she also wants to keep broadening those musical horizons. Three years after her international debut CD, Hayley Westenra is still pure: she exudes pure quality and she remains pure class--but her musical journey continues with her new album Odyssey.
Customer Reviews:
Wonderful melodies.......2007-06-08
This is a wonderful CD with beautiful melodies. Hayley Westenra has a very pure voice and sings right on key. The melodies are very relaxing and the musical settings are well arranged.
Hayley Westenra - Odyssey.......2007-06-08
Pure, crystalline, angelic voice. Gorgeously produced. "Prayer" is stunning. "Both Sides Now" wonderful. The rest is good but not her best song selection. When I first heard this girl on the "Celtic Woman" tour I was totally blown away. None of her CDs will disappoint!
Very soothing.......2007-05-14
Hayley Westenra's Odyssey is a very beautiful CD. If you switch on your walkman and listen to the CD's tracks non-stop, you'll soon feel like you're flying in Heaven. It's very soothing and heavenly. It calms you down, without causing you to feel lonely or sad because you're listening to it in solitary, like other vocal or classical songs do sometimes.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested. Quanta Qualia and Ave Maria are my most favourite tracks. Quanta Qualia is pure magic! I really feel as if I'm flying in Heaven when I listen to it.
very good pop singer voice.......2007-05-13
the selections were tasteful and varied. the singer has a very good pop singer voice. i would have liked some voice variation between songs. all were sung in exactly the same style. good singing but without tonal variation the disk tends to be bland. i hope that as she gets more exposure she will vary her voice to make the songs stand out individually instead of letting them blend into one song on the disc. i would rate this 5 stars except for that major fault.
Voice & level head deserve high marks .......2007-04-20
Not only has Hayley Westenra's voice remained "pure", but her good sense and sensibilty has stayed intact when so many similar young performers have gone over the deep end with extreme behavior and disreputable remarks. On this CD Miss Westernra covers a number of songs in her own special style, such as excellent versions of "Prayer", "May It Be" and "Both Sides Now". I hope to hear her renditions of more such tunes, old and new. I would like to hear her sing songs like "Yesterday", "I Still Believe in Love" and All I Know. She has a way with her soaring vocals that never lets the listener down.

Best Music Ever for Home Wedding.......2007-07-20
The tape consists of 25 traditional wedding songs played by big orchestras; the music was beautiful and made a small ceremony into a special, unforgettable ceremony.
Excellent resource for wedding planners.......2007-04-05
I work regularly with people planning church weddings who want the service to be dignified, traditional and formal. Often they have "ear memory" of music they've heard in other weddings, but no idea about its composer or title. This CD is the best compilation I've found of music that fits those requirements. Selections include great music and performances make it easy to imagine how they would sound in a particular church or other setting. Includes works by Protestant, Catholic and secular composers.
Great item!.......2007-03-29
Great CD! Perfect when planning your wedding music. There are a variety of songs from various composers.

This CD was inexpensive, and provided a great way to preview songs for my wedding. The CD had a good song selection. My fiance and I were able to get a better idea of how the songs would be at our wedding. Definitely an inexpensive tool that is worthwhile.

My daughter had to move her wedding 3 weeks before the event and the music she had arranged could not be there. I purchased this CD and we were thrilled with the price, the selections on the cd and how quickly it arrived. Thanks for providing the music for a beautiful wedding.

When you hear this music clan -- group just doesn't seem to be the right designation for a band of nomad desert musicians/soldiers -- a listener can hear the calm of the desert night air and the serenity of the musicians who live there. The Taureg people truly seem to be of the land and never more so than here on the band's third album, Aman Iman. The loping percussion and the circular guitar lines conjure wide-open desert images evoked in the repetitive grooves. Some may grumble that the members are playing much as they did on the first and second albums, blending Arabic song structures, desert wails, and primordial blues guitar riffs, but for it to be any different would be akin to asking the people in Tinariwen to change who they are. Never have words been truer than those of the title, but this album also appends that sentiment, proving that music is life for the desert Taureg too. --Tad Hendrickson
Customer Reviews:
Atmospheric? Like a stone on your head........2007-07-04
Finding Tinariwen made me happy. This group does to rhythm what Anoushka Shankar does to the 8 note scale. These are the strongest rhythms I've ever heard. They are something alive, you want to step aside to let it pass, you want to spin it and ultimately you want to dance with it.
This in NO way fits within my definition of atmospheric music. That genre was done to perfection by Eno 15 years ago. No, this music may invoke trances, it may put you on a plane to Timbuktu it may make you inexplicably desire to wrap your entire head in a sheet. It may cause you to dance your wife out of the living room, down the hall and into the bedroom. But it will not let you ignore it.
If you find yourself thinking this is atmospheric music then you're not listening. Consider it rock music. Turn it way up until plaster falls off lathe and then you will hear what you have missed.
5 stars squared.
Tinari"wonderful".......2007-06-14
A mixture of funky guitar, traditional drums, and an array of upbeat instruments nicely compliments the seriousness and heaviness of the songs lyrics. All songs are translated for you in the "liner notes". Highly recommended.
Great Album!.......2007-05-15
Just like Amassakoul, Aman Iman is some of the best music on the entire planet. A mix of blues and northern African styles that puts you in a trance.
Traditional real life in 2007.......2007-05-14
I like the way he touches the guitar. At first I saw Tiraniwen three years ago and was not so impressed, but little by little I got the feeling for this desert rebel. He is wonderful bluesy and still totally based in his Mali culture. What I like very much is that he feels for all Mali tribes and cultures. He is a good example for harmony and peace. I want to visit the Desert Music Festival in Timbouktou in 2008.
Hypnotic and enthralling.......2007-05-12
Tinariwen has often been described as "John Lee Hooker in the Sahara." While that baseline is a decent enough introduction, it's not nearly enough to embrace this band. This album follows Amassakoul, my first Tinariwen CD, and Aman Iman surpasses Amassakoul in every way. Depending on your mood, the music is soothing, hypnotic, challenging and stirring. The variations worked on repetitive figures reward repeated listening. If you haven't heard Tinariwen, Aman Iman is a great place to start.

Amazingly Thrilling Rollercoaster Ride!.......2007-06-15
I expected there to be only a handful of songs that would sound great but it turns out that the entire CD is really just one crazy roller coaster of unique trancey sounds. This is the first CD I ever bought that I can listen to all the way through to the last track enjoying each track along the way, while not skipping past anything.
When I first bought this CD I thought I was making a mistake because I never heard of "The Thrillseekers", who apparently is one guy, not the assumed two-three DJ's. However, I should never judge trance by it's jewel case anymore. This CD amazed me and I'm starting to like the Nightmusic series better than In Search of Sunrise and A State of Trance. We'll see what happens in the second volume coming out this month.
A perfect trance collection..........2007-05-21
Wow! What a powerful trance collection... This collection, together with Armin's State of Trance 2006 and ATB's In the Mix 3, are the most perfect trance collections of the last 5 years (I would add Tiesto's In search of sunrise - Los Angeles, but it's not 100% trance, since it has some chill out tunes).
I'll be anxiously waiting for the next Thrillseeker's album!
Cool.......2007-05-15
Hey it turns out everyone who liked this was right .... I do too. Good solid trance to dance to.
MOODY.......2007-03-09
I love this cd its the best in the world and I cannot explain the intensity of the music better than that.
VOCALS.......2007-02-17
WHY IS IT THAT VOCALS ARE SHOWING UP MORE AND MORE IN TRANCE?
To me their distractions!
DJ's and Producers PLEASE LEAVE THE BUBBLEGUM POP VOCALS for the teeny-bopper radio!
This set lost the fifth star just because of Who's Knocking (Ferry Corsten Remix).
Take the songs with vocals in them out and you still have 22 good trance songs.
